Newcomer Here!

Those are some good informations I really appreciate about that !
I can apply your method it makes sense and not too complicated.
Shouldn’t I use the exclusive skill for my main mastery?
I’ll note the “of Mending” tag its really helpful

That’s what I did when I first started out. One point everywhere! And get absolutely nothing done…

I try to avoid that mistake as much as I can. Approx. 1 hour ago I discovered augments  (I am an idiot I should check that earlier.). I bought rift tear. I will try to warp around Master of Flesh

I did the exact same thing. 1 point to try everything. Pumped the mastery bar instead. Blademaster swinging a wet noodle in Act II and wondering why it was such a slog!

Sometimes I spend too much precious evening time on this site and don’t get any actual game time in. But searching gear and trying out builds to theorycraft what might work is fun, too.

Welcome! I’m new, too. (Well, new to the official forums anyway.) Glad you’re enjoying your time in Cairn and you’re getting some good advice from all these lovely people. Once you’ve beaten Korvak on ultimate you should upload the build you did it with to grimtools to share it with us so we can celebrate with you.

One additional tip: beginners very frequently - and wisely - get told to look after their resists and their defensive ability but it’s less common for them to be advised to think about armor absorption.

I kept overlooking it myself, saving dealing with it until way into Ultimate. But I recently realized there’s an easy way to think about it. That component slot in your leg armor? Just think of that as the Scaled Hide Slot. That’s what it is. As far as you’re concerned, it does nothing else. As soon as you get the blacksmith on a playthrough, make a scaled hide and slap it in there. (Even better, make a bunch on another character and put them in your stash for new characters.) Later on, once your resists are good enough you don’t feel like you need to put an antivenom salve or silk swatch in your shoulder armor to survive in Ultimate, chuck another one in there. And that’s it.
