This would provide some motivation to play less carefully, because speeding through to higher level areas would provide potential rewards in terms of higher level equipment that can already be used if the player has managed to raise the relevant stat enough.
(I hope the minimum monster levels in later areas are sufficient for this sort of thing to be possible - I haven’t played enough to know for sure, but if not, the minimum monster levels for areas beyond the beginning could be progressively raised to synchronise with the above change.)
(Removing level restrictions for equipment would also create flexibility in how you build your character, because suddenly it might be a valid strategy to focus on lowering your character’s stat needs via special skillds etc. while speeding forward to higher level areas.)
Any chance of this being implemented? I think it’d be THE gameplay mechanic that would distinguish this game from other Diablo-clones, which are hellbent on annoying the player with level restrictions even on hardcore and smothering benefits of risk-taking (often combined with poor monster level scaling systems).
