No savegame found, build 9398573

When starting the game, suddenly there is no “Continue” button anymore.
When clicking on “Load game” the message “No savegames found” appears.

Restarting Steam and/or Farthest Frontier did not help.

The game was always quit after saving and waiting to sync via Steam before shutting down the computer.

In 30 hours of gameplay, this problem has never occurred.

Same here. round about 30hrs of gameplay and when i started some minutes ago, the savegames where gone.

[EDIT]: Savegames were titled “name [space] name”

[Update]: i started a new session and after ~1hr this message hit the screen failgame

Hi Guys,

I had the same issue, after 30hrs of gameplay started my morning trying to startup my game and only to find out that my save files are not present. Did a little digging and it seems like the save folder structure has changed.

I was able to find my old save files under:
C:\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save

Copied the entire folder which my town was named after:
Baltia_2022278193332

Pasted it in the new location:
C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save

And got my old game back!
Hope this helps!

Was just about to list the fixing steps
Not sure whether Windows Defender, Steam, or FF has created this folder with all the saved games:
D:\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save (mine on D:\ since this is where my steam saves games)

Hi guys

Great, that was the solution - thanks a lot!
Would have been a pity - finally a semi functioning settlement and then the save is gone.

I also did some more research and noticed the following: Windows Defender’s folder protection started blocking the Farthest Frontier .exe since yesterday. But I know too little about it to judge if this is related.

In any case, thanks again for the help and have fun playing!

The game is already fun, I can hardly wait to see what will be added until the release.

Awesome! Yeah having a ton of fun on this one~ been taking up my whole weekend for the most part. Haha!

Anyways, glad to have helped out.

No, more likely OneDrive was messing with your saves if that’s where you found them. If it was, then disable or uninstall that progamme. It’s known for hi-jacking the Documents folder.

The default save location for the game has always been My Documents\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save

[another update]: saving the game is not an option any more…

Umm…

…perhaps you should try clicking on it, like so…

…then once you are finished modifying the name how you like just press the Enter key to initiate the confirmation prompt.

Nothing has changed with how this is done but I will be fair and say that Crate should probably change this to automatically show the input box.

I did so, but…

[Edit]: also autosave is not doing anything anymore

Try verifying integrity…
