So today I was thinking about making this really cool(hopefully) build that involves Cadence with Discord, but then I kinda realised that there are about 0 pieces of gear for elemental Cadence.
Now I guess a badge of mastery could give me +5 to Cadence, but I don’t wanna have to craft that:p And anyway, what about Deadly Momentum and Fighting Form?
I just find it weird that there is a transmuter that looks like it opens up a new build opportunity but then there’s no gear for it.
There are also no elemental damage pistols other than the one at 75.
Surely any gear that gives +% elemental damage is good as I’m running a discord soldier/arcanist with no problems yet, ok it’s still low level, but all good so far
I think you need to explain why there’s an abundance of gear for elemental cadence, because I did a quick search on gracefuldusk and haven’t found much, at least not weapons. Filtering out 50- crap, there’s like two legendaries and two epics, and two of them are more of an exotic caster gear for CT builds.
Now, let’s check armor pieces. Hm…Iskandra set? Idk. How about a screenshot of your discord character’s gear?
What I’m getting at is that there is nothing specificly for that build despite there being a transmuter for it.
Search elemental damage and either cadence, fighting form or deadly momentum together, and you’ll see that is no gear specifically for it.
Obviously it’s easy to say that you could just use gear that gives %elemental damage, but you’re disregarding how important ultimate levels for your skills are later on in the game.
Like would you use any old poison gear for an end game DEE character? Nope. You’d use the set that gives points to DEE and it’s modifiers.
And I think you could be a little more helpful than just throwing a “Learn2play” towards the OP…
Now on the Cadence matter… are you referring to legendary gear in general? Because I’m sure that that there is lots of conversion/flat elemental damage bonuses on a lot of gear pieces and through affixes, plus Devotion and component bonuses.
There is a pretty good set of jewelry at lvl 50 can be really useful for a elemental Cadence build:
There’s physical conversion to elemental and there’s %elemental damage, but neither of these exist on any piece of gear in the whole game, that gives points to cadence, deadly momentum or fighting form:undecided:
Right now you have to choose between elemental damage/conversion and +skills to cadence and it’s modifiers:cry:
Choice is fine, but I don’t know any other skill+transmuter that has this issue. Imagine using tainted power on the aether ray, only to find that nothing in the game gives points to aether and choas damage together.
It’s not just about conversion. Let’s say you use discord + IEE, that’s already 75%. You can add a Temporal Archblade for 30% aether conversion, completely eliminating physical. Then what? Fighting form above 1 point would be completely useless, since iirc all +%modifiers are applied after conversions. As for deadly momentum - does discord even apply on non-3rd hits? If no - deadly momentum would be useless too. Does it convert physical damage from procs? If no then which procs would you use to supply good AOE for cadence?
Discords conversion comes after the physical damage bonus from fighting form, so the physical damge is increased and then converted. I imagine it’s the same for deadly momentum but I haven’t got to it yet.
I’m not sure if discord works for the first 2 hits either, would suck if it didn’t… For a devo proc I’m going to use element storm. It’s has a decent AoE and proc chance and the damage types line up:D
I’m fairly certain fighting form will increase the flat physical damage on cadence before conversion. Not sure how the transmuter works, but definitely for conversion from elsewhere. At least that’s how it works with forcewave.
I would guess that it only works on the 3rd hit which is the actual cadence hit, same as fighting form, whereas DM works all the time it’s active on any hit.
But this is just me guessing, so it would be nice to know certainly how it works as otherwise the first 2 hits will benefit from any + physical gear while the 3rd hit won’t be iirc how conversion works :undecided:
I fail to see why as if Discord doesn’t effect the first 2 hits then they will benefit from DM the same as they normally would. :undecided:
