No yield from boars and hunters won't automatically hunt them

I wanted my hunters to hunt boars cause i have plenty of them around but hunters just run away from them not even trying to kill. After i manually ordered one hunter to kill boar he did it and took caracas to hunters cabin. After Butchering meat task nothing showed up as products so the caracas gave no meat/skin/tallow.

Hunters not hunting boars is not a bug, that’s the way they work. You can manually command them to attack boars and they will also do so if a boar is attacking other villagers. But for general hunting only deer fall into that category.

Then info in hunter cabin about yield from boars is misleading. This still doesn’t explain why the hunter did all the process of bringing Caracas and butchering meat and got no products from it.

Additionally boars are marked on map same way as deers and this is also misleading.

Everything together definitely looks like it was intended for hunter to hunt boars but it’s not working properly.

agreed but there is a bug in the system of not getting any meat/tallow/skins. I have towers shooting them 2/3 every year and get nothing for them most the time… now saying that I did get a screen shot of were I got 50 meat and 1 skin from the boar

then second screenshot shows there is nothing in there where the first screenshot shows clearly carrying a boar

Numbers add up:

Hunter immediately carried off some of the produced meat (“Transferring Produced Items”) to make room for future production.

I tested it again multiple times and in fact hunter gets meat/tallow/pelts from boars but not always and not always in the amounts described.

My test:
1 hunter
10 boars killed
1 with no products
3 with deer amounts
6 with boar amounts

Can’t say what may cause this but i’m sure it was 10 boar caracases.

And I believe it’s the same logic with wolves except wolves are more aggressive so hunters will defend themselves. Putting two hunter cabins close to a wolf den is an easy way to get tons of meat for early to mid game.

Your meat produced in the last year went from 300 to 480, matching the boar meat count. The other resources also match. If they are “butchering meat” the carcass is being processed and so it is not in the building’s storage.
