Occultist Video!!!

Isn’t this a hero gazer (from the right upper corner)? It is called Overmind (Aether Corruption).

Looks great!

*please allow us to disable the Red monster highlighting (bit amateur night).

Hmm…how to put this…no offense…I liked it, but:

  1. The environment and combat seems quite boring because of the sounds. I mean, the sounds are dull, uninteresting, low quality, almost no ambient sounds, no scary monster sounds, nothing…this disappointed me “a bit”. Maybe it’s just the video quality, maybe it’s my bad mood, sorry for this criticism, but it is how I feel it after watching the footage. =/

  2. What does not help much either is no loot drops on the video (if I did not miss it).

I need to watch the footage few more times…and at home.

I agree with insane that there are a bit too much of cough colors. The backdrop is great but could help with a little less spell-effect colors. Else, the video is great. Can’t wait for more

all I can say is WOW!!! is this the same engine used in TQ? as GD looks far better, yeah I see no loot drops either, so will that be something yet to add and finalise? but I think we wanted a combat vid, and this is what we got, would be cool to know some of the spells used

otherwise I love the vid, love the HUD, music was epic, and may restore faith back into the game, when faith may have dropped off a bit.

and seriously is this game in pre alpha? the way it looks and plays, doesn’t look pre alpha to me, and yes the speed of combat is way faster, looks like you need to keep focused

matthewfarmery kneels infront of the almighty Crate lords in thanks for an awesome video

it was well worth the wait, thanks for taking the time to do it, as it looks far better then TL2 and D3 combined!!

Lookin’ sexy, Crate! Looks awesome, especially for pre-alpha. I might just be able to convince my mates to let me get a pre-order!

After watching the video, I fell like the map area name shown at the UI hub there is a bit… annoying.
Just feel like didn’t needed to show the name the map name all the time while you are in the same area…

Am I really the only one who feels the sounds are pretty bad, competely breaking the game atmosphere? I know I am sounds-junkie, but don’t tell me it is just me… =(

Quoting myself, what a day!

I feel we don’t have to worry so much and “nit-pick” about all the little things. The video looks so damn good that we have to remember that this is a pre-alpha game.

Finding a “bad” or insufficient sound system is “nit-picking”? It is, in my opinion, the thing that makes the atmosphere, not some stupidity like, for instance, a bad font. Without proper sounds you can scratch almost any game (especially this genre) that wants to be successful in immersing the player into it.

But well, I will keep silent, it seems it is really just me and I do not want to sound any more offensive, heh. =)

I’d like to hear from medierra how much of the sounds are finalized, and if the video has the same quality of sound as in-game. After he gets his well-deserved sleep! That being said, I don’t really find anything offensive about the sounds.

As I’ve mentioned in other threads, a lot of these things may be better left till Alpha is out. Pre-Alpha should have issues. Hell, Alpha should have plenty of issues. That’s why it’s there, to get input and do fixes. Pre-Alpha, I would expect, is more a matter of getting the core of the game in place. Not making everything look all shiny and sound perfect.

If enough people in Alpha and/or Beta have issues with any aspect of the game, I’m sure they will find a way of addressing it.

Falls to his knees and thanks for the video

Game will crush castrated Diablo 3.

Fight intense and fast-paced. The rotation of the camera is good. Love everything about hell-hound.
UI looks better on screens than in action.

You could add a button that would toogle (hide/show) all the unnecessary buttons on the left and right?
Leave only the skills.

The name of the map definitely has to disappear from the bar, it is best to move it around the radar as in TQ

Here I thought I was over the worst of my addiction to this game, what with playing krater alpha and all. But it seems like I was wrong… That being said…

ALPHA!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE ME ALPHA!!!

This isn’t what I meant to imply. Of course insufficient sound is bad for the game. But in a pre-alpha context, I’m sure its lower on the dev’s list of priorities. They’ll have plenty of time to fix up the sound and things of that nature in the (not too distant) future.

Wow really nice the game is shaping up great! Big improvement over the first combat video!

Anyways I agree with some of the criticism…specifically the environmental sound and the color of some of the skills.

The music, however, is a BIG improvement over TQ. While it wasn’t bad in TQ, sometimes I felt like it almost put me to sleep lol. Also, the action is awesome…fast paced and hectic. Great variety of skills being used, lots of danger from the enemies, environments look great…overall fantastic job you guys should be very proud.

Wow! The game looks awesome!

I Love the color palette - you really know how to mix the colors right!

Game-play looks great! I wonder, have you decided to give each profession a unique way of generating mana?

How many elite enemy mods do you plan to have for this game or is this only limited by your imagination?

Didn’t notice one but I presume there will be a cool-down display for potions and the like?

There’s not much to criticize it all looks so great!

Awesome video… thanxs guys for the hard work. It feels that this game will rock, and it worths our early support. Keep up the good work and ofc can’t wait for alpha version.

Hmm, not sure what’s up with the sound. It sounds sort of muddy and crappy in the video but it doesn’t sound like that in game.

I’m not sure wtf happened because I produced it with the same settings as the previous video… I’ll have to look into this.

Awesome! Thanks for the video. This game is looking fantastic. It shows how much work and effort you guys are putting into this. Keep up the great work!

Btw, anyone notice you can shoot enemy projectiles out of the air? ; )
