Dear Grimdawners,
Does anyone know if there are development considerations or mods that take on the ‘% of X damage converted to Y damage’? aspects of skills and items?
Main reason:
The trouble I had with some builds is that their damage is too much spread out in different types, and therefore weaker, and consequently I enjoy them less.
Context:
An example of a class that takes it well is the Pyromancer. Even though there can be a bit of lightning and poison in the build, it is reasonable easy and powerful to make a build around physical/fire/burn/chaos/vitality.
A class which does that less is the spellbreaker, where I find it hard to build a character around specific damage types, and end up with physical, piercing, poison, acid, cold, frostburn, fire, burn, lightning, electrocute, bleeding, chaos, vitality.
Solution:
One way of dealing with this, I think, is by having ‘% of X damage converted to Y damage’ apply over the whole board of skills. Is there any development thought going on in this field / Are there any mods dealing with this?
Specifics suggestions to the following four classes:
Nightblade
Nidalla’s hidden hand apply to all piercing damage (33% of piercing converted to acid)
Frenetic throw apply to all piercing damage (45% of piercing converted to vitality)
Ring of frost apply to all piercing damage (70% of piercing converted to cold)
Arcanist
Iskandra’s elemental exchange only converts physical damage to elemental damage used otherwise (e.g. to prevent a spellbreaker/druid/sorcerer/warlock having cold, fire, and lightning)
Tainted power apply to all aether damage (100% of aether converted to chaos)
Soldier
Discord apply to all physical damage (45% of physical damage converted to elemental)
Shaman
Corrupted storm apply to all lightning damage (100% of lightning damage converted to vitality)
Outcome:
Trickster build that has all lighting replaced with vitality, added with poison, acid, bleeding
Battlemage that has all physical damage centred around physical/internal/bleeding/elemental
Spellbreaker that has all damage centred around frost
*Warlock that has all damage centred around chaos/fire/vitality
