I’ve been playing my Warlock for awhile now and I run Olexra’s and Callindor’s to clear large mobs. I’ve noticed that bosses completely ignore Olexra’s damage. I get that you can’t freeze most bosses because that have crazy amounts of stun/freeze reduction but they even ignore all damage dealt by Olexra’s. Since even the damage it deals doesn’t seem to affect bosses, any star binded to it will never proc on bosses. I find that really annoying since that makes one constellation skill I have unable to proc in any boss fight.
So here is my question, was Olexra’s meant to have no affect at all on bosses?
Pretty sure that’s a no. I run a will of the living battlemage who uses CT and OFF in boss fights and they definitely take damage from mine. Could it be that the damage from OFF is small enough that it doesn’t appear to move their health bar? Do you have damage numbers turned on?
Interesting, I had no idea! I’ll have to test it out the next time I play my battlemage. It’s entirely possible I was seeing damage coming from another source.
So long as the enemy is frozen they will take damage. If they aren’t frozen… no damage. If you manage to debuff the freeze resist enough, it might be possible. But for the most part, bosses and heroes are immune to the damage and effects of OFF.
Does that mean none of the effects will work against bosses, including the resist debuff?
Are there other skills which don’t work on bosses at all? I would imagine that anything should take damage but merely resist the freeze effect. Nullifying the entire skill because something is immune to freeze makes me sad.
Yeah, none of the effects including damage and the ability to proc celestial powers work on targets immune to the freeze, such as bosses and some heroes.
Blade Trap also does nothing to targets immune to it’s immobilize like bosses, hence it’s “popularity”.
