I encountered this also in the previous patch, but I now find it very annoying.
As you can see there is only one grid between the market, which is going to be build and the path and I cannot connect it, befor patch 0.7 this was possible.
And sometimes it happens that a road will not quite meet another road at a T-intersection, and being able to just drop in one grid square of road to join them up would be much preferable to having to destroy a whole line of road and re-draw it so it does meet the cross street.
For me it is not obvious that a “connection” is not needed, it would be helpful, better recognizable that this side is connected to the road too. Then I can better place decorations in the empty slots.
Click on the road square to which you want it to be joined to, and then extend the road from there. Roads go “to” and “from”, we just get niceness from the devs when we only run a road up to or from beside another road, in which case they have sympathetically coded the game to link the roads up for us.
For these really short links I’ve found that sometimes I need to extend the road further, maybe with a wiggle about, and then bring it back when it’s given me a green light (and then set it too obviously).
Nah… that’s why I said take it out first and then bring it back. You need to take it 3 squares initially but you can then bring it back to 2 or 1 (bringing it back to the original square means you need to take it out 3 again).
