Only two things that bothers me.

  1. The items sets, there isn’t a single armor set completed, and by that I mean in terms of clothing. Characters look like ass-clowns by the end of the game which is such an turn off. When it comes to customizing characters looks > optimizing stats, at least for some players. The best solution would be just adding costumes to the game, single slot full costume, no individual costume pieces, profit.

  2. Clearing the game multiple times for unlocking difficulty. Its an old and lazy design that keeps getting used for some reason. After clearing final boss in final run you could have just added a new quest line and jumped straight to ultimate difficulty without having to start all over again…twice! (The best progression design in a hack and slash I seen is from Tree of Savior, you have so much to do from level 1 to max level for the most part, sadly its an “MMO” and there is a lot of BS that comes for being such, which makes it not worth playing)

I’d hardly call new game + lazy design. Sure, maybe back in the 8 bit days when it was so much easier to make dozens upon dozens of levels, but modern games now? It takes so much more to extend and populate a game world. To me it makes absolute sense.

And you’re right, an MMO is a different beast with different baggage. In order to keep people playing they literally have to keep content rolling in if they want to keep making enough money to keep the servers live and maybe afford a nice steak dinner on the weekend.

But for a single player arpg with a team of ten? I’ll take that new game + that only took 7 years to make reality with no complaint and wait for the expansion.

I don’t mind having to beat the game multiple times to unlock further difficulties, but i wish Elite and Ultimate had unique overworld bosses like in TQ. TQ had the Hydra, Manticore, Talos and Dragon Liche. It makes going through the harder difficulties more exciting because you want to fight those bosses.

i got no problem with the ARPG grind, they all do it this way and it works. as for sets i keep finding the same pieces over and over, which means some pieces must be extremely rare.

imo that is fail design. all pieces should have the same chance to drop, so i have not come anywhere near completing a legendary set yet. despite putting in almost 500 hours since legendaries were added to the game.
