I find it finally good enough. Still missing some energy regen.
my mystic runs that sword. 5.22 sec ravager, but about 4x more durable than the stun jacks build I posted. I kiled mog 2 before he transformed.

Chaos Mystic go brrrr
Not sure yet but I think most fire retal cinderborn builds can be pretty OP too. You don’t even need the full set, just need 3 out of 4 for the big flat rata. Previously, many fire rata builds uses dawnshard armor which converts like 1/3 fire to lightning, but this set instead converts like 3/5 lightning to fire which is very good. It also does not conflict at least 2 position with other rata supporting items (helmet for snb, helmet+shield for bwc, hellborne+helmet for bomb, gun+shield for ratadin). The only bad rata build I can think of using this set is rata aegis due to lack of cdr for aegis.
Edit: Oh it’s not. We have colossal defender and I guess it’s warlord rata time :)))
Absolutely you underestimate what “OP” means. Naked 200ex record is sub 3:30 now and those “OP” things are sub 4:00. Retal can’t do that yet. Cinderborn is just, probably the best among retal.
Let alone its very bad mobility and weakness in mobile warfare.
Added Wind Devils, nonretal Grasping Vines and Reap Spirit to the UP section.
Devas in “up” perhaps along TSS ? ![]()
and, no offence to Heaph grimtools fun
, weapon swap debuff +ascendant RR affix stack exploit in “OP” ?
*mainly because other weapon swap stuff gets considered nogo/“exploit” and explicitly canceled in mechanic/feature changes
Hmm, some of the feedback seems to be made in bad faith.
Sure that Vines set grants them 200% TDM bonus but at the cost of almost doubling their base CD - the latter part not being brought into discussion when every1 mentions the ‘200% TDM broken’ part.
vines itself was added to up not op, i’m thinking the gripe isn’t 200tdm specifically, but used as highlight what it needs to work for endgame/“on non worldkeeper setups”/other vines builds needs WK buff amount, despite WK losing 1 stack still not considered busted but “works”
Just saying that’s not the entire picture.
Devas as in Devastation? Stormfang seems to be eating well but other Deva variations got a lot weaker by proxy so maybe the vanilla skill really is underpowered. Seems to be kept afloat by onslaught stacks and bonus projectiles - both things that Stormfang conveniently grants.
Prob a bigger issue of skills being decent only when supported by onslaught - but that ship has sailed no?
To answer your concern, no, it wasn’t.
I simplify explanations because there’s so much text to read through already. Yes, the set has +1 cd. But upfront and single Vine dmg matter a lot in clearing the content: when you leave one vine behind on the go, does it clear mobs or not? 2.2 or 1.2 cd doesn’t affect this bit of gameplay, but 200% TDM massively affects it. There’s also a big poison portion added to the set, and this portion itself gets 3x multiplier. Another factor is, when you have a massive TDM for a skill for the price of some cd, you can use your fighting time for other things to deal dmg or boost your defences, whereas 1.2 cd leaves you almost no room for cast other than CoF.
So if you wanted to portray it as the set’s dmg = initial dmg * 3 / 1.8333 = 64% dmg increase, it would be grossly incorrect.
Every Arcanist attack skill with the exception of AAR is underpowered.
About Devastation, we need more tests. There’s a new ascend for every weapon piece that adds a projectile per hand. 1 proj is doubling deva dmg. If we to assume, this is the norm now for non-dot deva, every deva build should be tested with 1 or 2 white weapons with deva craft to understand if the skill can universally carry like that.
Do we really want this to be the norm for optimization? To roll specific ascended affixes on white items to make a skill work? My answer is - hell no!
Well, that one affix is quite literally broken tier for Devastation builds. Same as the RTA to RF on shields one.
Devastation builds that can’t use it are strictly at a disadvantage (chaos deva Sorc heh?).
So nerf it obviously. And buff the skill itself.
only applies to weapon slots, and a lot of existing devas modifier items are on weapon slots.
Have no trouble waiting for more topgang tests tho
not for “baseline” build function/avg meta dmg dmg atleast no. Meme/peak GT theory dmg/function i’m fine with. But if “every” regular or pre-existing devas builds needs them to get in line, or worse replace existing modifier items with magick projts to get on par, that might suggest more than meme or “peak GT potential” issues in the skill
it’s really not, atleast not what i’ve tried so far even with Stormfang
- it makes it neat/decent not busted
Should make another thread for asc affix evaluation because some are worse than joke tier - including the strong ones rolled on common items.
I don’t know how to tackle that tho, it’s a balance nightmare.
You have crap like a miniscule amount of flat damage to TSS/WOA on the same tier of items as +1 proj Deva or 18%(!!!) RTA to RF - higher than hard capped third node of the skill itself.
Obviously some have already been identified so they will get nerfed and underperfoming buffed. And in time more will get this treatment.
