Have a question about overcaping your resistances and its mechanics. Did some searching after an adequate answer, but was hard to find. So how does it work when you get a debuff that lowers your resistance…is it calculated from your “max resistance” or from your “overcaped resistance”? Reason I ask is that my Krieg-tank gets facerolled by Valdaran to often in Crucible :o
How does it work if your overcapped resist takes into account a % to maximum resists stat? Say you have overcapped aether damage by 30 but you have a maximum resist stat that brings the maximum resist without overcap to 84 aether resist and then you overcap?
Nothing changes. That percent just raises the cap, not your resist.
Let’s say you have 120% resistance in poison. You have an item with +6% to your max poison resist. That means your resistance is 86%. Now a mob lowers your poison resist by 33%. That drops 120% to 80%. Your new poison resistance is 80%.
If it dropped 120% by 20%, that drops to 96%, and since your max poison resistance is 86%, that is your resistance.
