Playing online - Is it dead?

So Im in act 2 elite. First quests. I make a game with lvl range +30, and only 2 people join after about 45 mins. They leave fast sadly.

Was I too late to try this game out, have been moved on  This was prime-time gmt +1 19:00

if you have a GoG version…then it is dead. on steam it isn’t

Play steam version and only dable in the crucible from time to time and 90% of those games are locked, 5% are afk or level me up games, 3% so so laggy, 2% playable but not worth the time.

Only ever made one public game for story mode “kill sentinal plz” yet after 30 mins and me finally killing the sob someone joined a day late and dollar short.

So yeah online is dead but thats the impression if they could copy bnet from diablo 2 and ban all spam messages that would be fantastic as of now it seams like no one plays online.

Now back to new character (level 69) and the elite sentinal wall, time to over level then go back then the ultimate sentinal wall is left. Stop spaming green crystals already

I see thanks. I dont have the DLC - Is it worth getting? I guess it is  Was hoping to play with people while lvling, it just goes faster in co-op when you are new (no funnel of gear) and little lost on quests etc. I bought game via steam

So, essentially it’s become a niche game. Sad - may be because the multi-player interface SUCKS.
I’d game with you if you log on with consistency.
Let me know.

It has always been a niche game. Add to that, that about 90% of players barely ever play MP and you have a small subset

GD has always been a niche multiplayer game because it’s primarily a single player one with a multiplayer option. Might be a burst of multiplayer activity when the expansion comes out later in the year.

This is confusing for me. Yesterday I booted up MP again, since I have recently started trading again. To my big surprise after reading this thread, there was more servers up than I have ever seen before! Yes, more than half of them was locked, but still I had a huge selection. In stark contrast to 4 months ago when it was really quiet. So I do not know if this is difference in regions or servers (I am in Europe), or something else. Either way, I am happy, lots of fun leveling 3 new toons :joy:

Yea but that’s because if you want MP you go jump on your D3 or POE characters. GD mp isn’t a pleasant experience.

No, I am talking playerbase in general. Most people do not care for MP. That is even true for D3 players, they just have no real choice.
