Please critique my build + Damage conversion queries

Hello, I am busy levelling a character I have theory-crafted. After browsing some of the Conduit random affixes, the full fire to chaos conversion for EOR on the Conduit of Divine Whispers appealed to me… figured I would build a 2H EOR Sentinel with full conversion to chaos, spinning and winning wielding the awesome Mythical Wrath of Tenebris Scythe and throwing out Doom Bolts here and there

Please see two GT links below - two variations with slight differences (mainly in helm slot and devotion setup).

Question 1 : I would appreciate any critique - devotion setup, devotion proc assignments, any more efficient gear choices or skill point breakpoints I am missing etc? Which version do you think is better and why?

2H EOR Chaos Sentinel v01 Harbinger Mask giving 2pc set bonus, weapon dmg to Doom Bolt.

Question 2 :
Am I crazy to go for Time Dilation just so I can use Ascension more often? I also like the defensive bonuses and slow res in the constellation and have the points since I went for Dying God. 1 pt in Judgement is to control exactly when I want Time Dilation.

2H EOR Chaos Sentinel v02 Ravager’s Dreadgaze for +1 skills and the RR debuff.

I think Harbinger 2pc in previous version gives a lot more dmg… As for devotion - dropped Aeon’s to go for Korvaak - meant I needed to reshuffle devotion assignments and put EOR on Korvaak so it procs more reliably…

Question 3 : Any thoughts on version 02 choices? I am thinking version 1 is probably better, but overall advice is most welcome.

I have every item in the build ready for when I hit 94. except the key item - the Conduit… I have like 5 of the conduits but not the Divine one. So while I wait for the blueprint to drop … I would also really appreciate answers to the follow questions please, thank you for still reading :

Question 4 :

Is an item like Sash of the Bloodlord which gives global conversion better than say a +1 skills belt in the meantime? this leads on to my next question

Question 5 :
When an item like Sash of the Bloodlord has a global conversion (so not targeting a specific skill) for damage X to damage Y - does EVERY INSTANCE of damage X everywhere get converted? On all skills, all devotion flat damages etc?

For example - Sash of the Bloodlord converts 40-60% of Fire to Chaos.
Question 6 :
So this will convert the fire portion of EOR, plus it will convert the fire portion of the Flame Torrent devotion proc? How does weapon damage factor into this?

Question 7(slightly off topic) :
Can the animation delay / pause when first beginning to spin with EOR be improved with attack speed/cast speed? The pause really bugs me and I keep comparing it to the dreamy smoothness of WW barb in D3 - instant responsiveness in comparison… Does this bug anyone else? Hard enough weaving so many buttons in between spinning on my piano build, so if I can improve the animation speed in any way please let me know

I have fully formatted for readability and less chance of ambiguity / confusion, and even used colour because I would really appreciate specific answers to my specific questions. Please don’t bother if you are going to rush in, glance over my post - likely skipping important parts or not looking at my GT tools links properly, and give some rushed generalised answer to all my questions in one. I put time and thought into my (admittedly long) posts on these forums because I want to learn, not just copy. I respect the vast knowledge some of you guys have and the time you take to answer, even when questions are asked repeatedly.

In random order:

Is an item like Sash of the Bloodlord which gives global conversion better than say a +1 skills belt in the meantime?

conversion from fire, just look if you do fire damage in your damage build up and see if its worth converting it. You already convert your spinning attack to chaos so.

Question 1 : I would appreciate any critique - devotion setup, devotion proc assignments, any more efficient gear choices or skill point breakpoints I am missing etc? Which version do you think is better and why?

version 1 for the flat chaos.

Am I crazy to go for Time Dilation just so I can use Ascension more often? I also like the defensive bonuses and slow res in the constellation and have the points since I went for Dying God. 1 pt in Judgement is to control exactly when I want Time Dilation.

My two cents on this is that it isnt worth the investment for 1 skill. I think there are better choices that can also improve more of the build. And if you really need time dilation to survive then i think something is wrong.

Question 5 and 6:
When an item like Sash of the Bloodlord has a global conversion (so not targeting a specific skill) for damage X to damage Y - does EVERY INSTANCE of damage X everywhere get converted? On all skills, all devotion flat damages etc?

yes all damage is converted for the amount stated. Damage can only be converted once. So yes your devotion will do more chaos damage as much is converted.

On your ‘am i crazy to get time dilation’ question…

Not at all! Dying god is a great choice of T3 for a chaos build. Getting hourglass too is a no brainer with a useful cooldown like ascension in play.

On the build as a whole your out of ascension OA is worrisome but I’m not sure how to fix it.

I personally prefer v2, mainly because the harbinger helm isnt exactly doing much for u outside of the boost to doom bolt which isnt exactly the crux of the build. Also, the build isnt exactly swimming in chaos rr. Correct me if i missed anything, but i’m looking at

-65% rr
flat 25 reduced chaos resist

so total of 90 resist reduction. It’s not bad, but dropping 10% rr is significant against guys like Reaper especially if he comes with some chaos resist mutators.

Also, time dilation isnt only for ascension. It’s also for doom bolt. So u could ascension-doom bolt-doom bolt ------- ascension.

Vizix thank you for your reply.

Silben I think what you are saying is that you are concerned at how low my OA is during Ascension downtime?

Thanks for your input mate - regarding RR, I do have the third type of RR - %reduced resist - please see my Weapon augment I am using Potent Essence of Ch’ton. I’m not sure of the final calculations but its something at least, not sure where I can fit in more.

As for the Mask of the Harbinger - it is also giving me the 2pc set bonus and I lose a ton of chaos damage if I change it… But the extra -% RR is definitely worth considering in the bigger picture, as you say I don’t have much.

I took your replies into consideration and came up with this setup :
Changed to Barbaros pants, new devotion setup with Korvaak instead of Aeon’s.

Trying to find a middle ground here between the OA and DA :undecided:

EDIT : forgot Kraken constellation
