I´m playing a Necromancer/Oathkeeper pet master character. I have noticed that when I use Shepherd´s Call skill with Reap Spirit, the chances of triggering the devotion are 85%, whereas, when I assign this devotion power to Ill Omen, the percentage goes back to default: 25%.
When I use Bysmiel´s Command with Reap Spirit, the percentage chance of triggering the devotion also changes, from 20% to 68%.
I have only 1 point assigned to each Reap Spirit and Ill Omen skills. No gear modify any of them except for a +1 to all Necromancer skills.
Different skills having different devotion power proc chances is normal - it depends on their cooldown / duration etc. There’s even a formula for that. That’s why you need to check it in-game not in Grim Tools which doesn’t include that.
Ok, sorry. I´ve been reading the forum lately and I haven´t found any thread or message related to that. And I didn´t notice it with my first character.
The numbers in the spreadsheet look incorrect to me though.
Do you mean this to be a very rough approximation?
The formula looks correct though: procRate * (1 + (cooldown * 81)/100) * (1 - (attackDuration * 11) / 100)
The numbers in the top left corner should be the proc chance for the cooldown and duration entered in the green box. (the numbers on the right is a static list of base proc chance and cooldown for the devotions)
I’m not very good with Excel, so some mistakes are possible.
(I know some of the proc chances may have changed, I believe I did that around 1.1.9.2)
I just tried, and there seem to be a floor of 1 second for duration for all skills in-game (skills that last 1 second and skills that are instant will have the same proc chance given the same cooldown)
Even though shadow strike is instant, you will get the right proc chance by entering 1 second in duration
Honestly, I’m not sure how to alter the formula to take that into account… I know it can be done. Feel free to edit the formula.
I thought so too but this doesn’t work for meteor. I gotta go know but I’ll try to fix it when I get back home (unless you figure this out) because it seems fixable as correct number show here and there. For example maybe base proc chances are different than those shown in Grim Tools
Is there another skill/devotion combo that doesn’t work other than that one ?
Maybe this is specific to ABB or Meteor… or maybe it’s all 30% proc chance devotions
(Maybe Meteor has a floor at 30% but acts like a 25% otherwise ? )
Not home right now, so cannot test in-game… I’ll try to figure that out
PB and SS have the same 51% proc chance on Rumor despite having different cooldowns.
I thought about their being thresholds (only finite number of possible proc chances and you get the one just under calculated value by the formula) but this theory doesn’t seem to fit well after some examination.
My new theory is that different skill templates have different in-built durations but I couldn’t find them in files.
Btw let’s remember that Dammit didn’t recreate it either in Grim Tools
@DeputyChuck Seems like the theory of skills having different hidden durations (not seen in moddable files) is true.
I investigated the Meteor case - why ABB gives 54% there (1s duration of ABB doesn’t give this result).
I calculated what the duration should be from Meteor with ABB formula and got around 2.43s.
Then I put this 2.43s duration in ABB + Rumour equation - it works there and gives 27% which matches the game.
