Primal Strike 100% Aether needs green lightning!

I’ve noticed many of the skills will change colors if you convert 100% of the damage, fire to chaos or fire to cold etc. But converting 100% primal strike lightning damage to aether doesn’t result in “aether lightning” it’s just the same blue lightning.

I had some great theories for this but i already have a Primal Strike spamming character so without aether lightning it just looks like more of the same.

Anyway, just something that i think would be very cool. When i saw Flames of Ignaffar turned into “ice fire” i was impressed- and it makes perfect sense.

therefore i think we should have Aether lightning !!

Every Aether Lightning skill mod/transmuter besides AAR (good job Zars :D) is basically false advertisement. My SJ-Sorc literally pisses me off since Jacks didn’t turn green despite the skill mod. The only thing that keeps me from scrapping the build is that it’s good :stuck_out_tongue:
Same for SBoE transmuter that doesn’t turn Tether Green, or Allagast skill mod that doesn’t turn Sky Shards green

In a separate thread Zantai addressed this. Basically changing skill color on conversion isn’t simple re-texturing, it’s basically redoing the entire sfx over.

If/when there’s a GD2, I know what the first thing I’ll be asking for is :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree. I really hate how my Chaos AAR Warlock has an Aether-green Agrivix’s Malice. So goofy looking!

This has been discussed to death, tldr it’s not that simple.

but if it was that hard they wouldn’t have done it for any of them. yet fire to cold and fire to chaos often results in total color changes.

is green harder than blue? :stuck_out_tongue:

i know they have bigger fish to fry, but i would LOVE to see this! I literally dropped the spec when i realized the gfx made me look like just another lightning spam jackass.

again, if that were true they never would have bothered with changing fire to ice, ice to fire, or fire to chaos etc. but they DID and it looks damn cool

It has nothing to do with colors but the skill’s template.

Aether Ray was the first skill ever to receive the fx swap tech when we introduced Skill Modifiers, which Flames of Ignaffar inherited by being based off of that skill. Since then, a handful of other skill types were adapted to that feature, but every other skill we do this for requires individual treatment to not only enable fx swapping but also to create the alternate fx.

that’s ok we’re patient

i’ll wait to play with aether lightning whenever you guys get around to it. until then got plenty of other builds to keep me busy
