Primal Strike color change difficulty

Could someone please inform me whether it’s difficult or rather a simple thing to do, i.e. changing a color code in some file?

I’d like to make a hard mod that changes the default Lightning Primal Strike color and maybe also its sub skills but if it’s very time consuming I’ll give it a pass but otherwise I could learn and devote some time into it.

Change the highlighted section by click on the little box with the […], and then look for a similar named effect (lightning2) in the rangeddirect/ directory to choose a different lightning bolt fx. You can try other effects in the folder as well but I don’t know if they all work. If none of these work for you, you will have to create your own images and pack it into an animated texture.

The one below it, targetFxPakName will change the impact FX, and you can choose from a few already created primalstrike[dmgtype] effects, idk if they are all listed here but you have aether, cold, physical, and vitality. If you want another that isn’t listed you’ll have to create your own with PFX editor.

Lastly, the particleEffectName1 holds a “Swipe” effect that plays on the player when the skill is cast, similar to above, you can find other fx that can go here in the directory it’s in. If you don’t like these that are here, you will need to create your own in the PFX editor.

If you don’t know how to create custom images/textures, changing the lightning FX will be very difficult and depressing because if you don’t know what you are doing it will look really bad, but might still be enjoyable.

Using the PFX Editor is pretty simple for the most part, there’s a few dead guides on these forums and I made one for TQ (which is pretty much the same exact tool, though the guide is more dead than the GD equivalents) which you can probably find if you have strong enough google fu, I think someone backed it up but I don’t know where it is anymore.
