As title suggest. This is a small but tempting for players- feature. Let the base game owners drool at the classes, allow them to take a preview but for their eyes only so they will be kinda hypnotized to buy the dlc’s and this potentially increasing sales.
This goes for crucible also. Mention a preview and not just a name that does nothing. They can of course read in the store page but having this info in your face in game reminds them to turn over and surrender their wallets and pockets.
As for the idea you wrote I think Zantai himself said recently:
As in D3 probably, a mention in the main menu that the new class is available could work, maybe, but no drooling and teasing, this could have adverse effects imo for more casual players. Besides D3 is an online game, not sure seeing the same tease shoved down your throat every time you go into the main menu would be good
Ok skip free theorycrafting part just advertise necro and inquisitor in the class menu screen and include Ok also to the base game owners and that should be fine.
Reliable Studies show that people are most likely to buy a product when they see it personally or in this case digitally. theorycrafting would have been better too cause when you fondle a product let it be felt in your hands is a most likely guarantee for sale. Im not saying same as diablo with animations just normal name there as placeholder something like thatn
I have lots of friends who dont own dlc and have no idea what classes in expac are so this is good idea imo. I dont think this is a dick move
so for base game owners when they level up first time instead of seeing 6 masteries they will see 8 or 9 but these 3 dlc ones are blurred( optional to preview skills)
So permanently tease players that CANNOT afford any DLC just how much they are missing out and how much of a loser they are as there’s ALL this EXTRA content, constantly shoved in their face and then reminded that… Guess what YOU DON’T OWN THIS… HA HA HA !!!
No this is beyond a dick move, this is being cruel and fucking with people that are struggling with finances and cannot “just simply buy everything that exists”
Crate would lose instantly my support if they were ever this cruel.
Edit… not to mention all the waste of their timing constantly explaining that “NO the games isn’t bugged” these chars are here simply to tease and piss you off that you haven’t spent even more money and own these chars as well.
for some reason this may be not a good idea afterall. when i think. What if Crate gets idea out of this and put crate boxes containing special edition fashion and illusion items for real money. Now thats a dick move:eek:
but still I’d be all over it if its paladin related
@jaknet haha reminds me of some of the bigger gaming companies:furious:
Aristotle: “The eyes are the organs of temptation”. Its also the reason why Mcdonalds tease and show immaculate photos of their products in your face when you order. Too bad what’s advertised often end up smaller and uglier in reality.
Methinks somebody just wants the Paladin class combo displayed in everybody’s game whether they can play as it or not.
Here’s another fun idea: a John Bourbon clone bursts out of Log’s mouth after you defeat it and immediately informs you that the expansion is available now now now before redirecting you to the relevant store page. Dat temptation.
Ok scrap this idea then. I know Crate wont allow themselves to treat their customers like others. Im just saying this out of a possible idea for a visual marketing feature but oh well it may not apply here. Good points you guys
