Question about debuff stacking

Are negative percentages of Devouring swarm and Cof additive? Assume a guy with vitality resistance of %70;

1-so at max level -%30 vitality + -%60 vitality = -%90? = guy has %7?

or

2-60 + 0.3*60 = -%78? = guy has =~%15.4?

or does it work like this

3-i used cof and now %70 - %21(73) = %49;
and devouring swarm %49 - %~30(0.49
6) = guy has %11?;

which one?

They are additive.

Assuming Devouring Swarm is at level 16 and Vulnerability at level 10, an enemy with 70% vitality will have -20% vitality resistance with both debuffs applied.

Thanks but are your -20 calculation true? They are percentage debuffs but you substracted them like they are flat - debuff?

Pretty sure that’s how it works. You can send enemy’s resistances to negative percentages.

Then what is the difference between - x reduced resistance and - % x resistance? if we both substract then why is there flat and percentage?

Effectively, nothing, it just separates them into different types of -rr so that you have to make skill / devotion / gear choices, i.e.

  • pick 1 flat reduction source from skills / devotion / gear
  • stack as much -% as you can
  • throw in 1 source of % for good measure

Because difference is huge, flat rr reduced ALL resistances* (except resistance to control effect), -% rr reduces only that type of resist that notice in the description.

*Keep in mind that it works is if the ability is not clearly specified types of lowering resistance (e.g. use of the Rowan’s crown will be cut resistance only to elemental damage)

thanks everyone for the info.

Wrong, flat RR for one exclusive resistance exist aswell like breakmoral from soldier tree, there is no difference between 28 flat phys RR from breakmoral & -28% phys RR from Assassin’s mark.

Would it make sense to use a 1,1,12 blackwater cocktail just for the reduced resistances (i.e. not using burn/fire/chaos damage sources) from Agonizing Flames? It seems it applies to all resistances which could be quite good. If you don’t have anything in that column of the chart Ving linked.

you could go even 1-0-12, but yea its an option.

Resistance shredding from different columns do indeed stack, correct? Like a skill from column A and column B. I always believed they did, but it’s nice to get confirmation.

Can we stack OA/DA debuff from different sources?

It follows the same rules as resistance reduction. Only different debuffs stack (ones that have “-X DA/OA” wording and come from different skills).

Yup, so i can stack Vulnerability with scorpion sting but this one can’t stack with black flame (helm’s proc).
