How can a barn complain about not enough feed, if Grain and Root Vegetables are left over after winter?
The herders will resupply the barn during winter if you have food available globally. Looks like this is what they did.
Then I do not understand the warning.
It’s warning you that the supply (for whatever reason) isn’t built up at the farm to cover the whole winter. You simply need to check that there is global supply available, and that you have sufficient farmers (one isn’t sick for ex.) to stock it. If you find you don’t have any additional supply of feed then you can first stop milking, and in extreme cases, slaughter a few cows.
I believe the warning is specific to the barn’s storage, not your global storage. Since you have plenty in global storage I’d bet the issue is you either have too few herders or they are too far from the food to efficiently get enough to the barn in time for winter.
