Going for a tanky aura rogue build that can still do single target damage. Does Shadow Strike work with a shield, or does it take the damage from both weapons/2h equipped? I’d really like to use a 1h/shield.
Haven’t really messed with the devotions so I don’t know if any of those could make/break the build as well
If it’s totally shit and not going to work I’d like to know but if it’s decent I’d like to know any suggestions for tweaks to min/max it
You lack aoe dmg. Even though you will be tanky and probably wont die, it will take a looong time to clear groups of enemies. I would invest some points in either Amarasta’s blade burst or the dual wielding skills from nightblade or an aoe skill from the shaman
Would you recommend dropping the Shadow Strike tree completely and using Gambit/Amarasta’s for damage or keeping Shadow Strike and going into something like Devouring Swarm/Wind Devil tree in Shaman?
Also one more question: At what point in the game is it typical to start investing into the defensive skills in your build? I understand it’s probably a bit different for each build but I’m just trying to get a general idea.
I’ve never played shaman before so i cannot say about that. It’s easy to test skills, since u can respec them for a very small fee. So go test it out. As for shadow strike, i like this skill a lot.
If u care about not dying, you can invest in defensive abilities early. Dying doesn’t really matter too much as long as you’re not playing hardcore, and if you invest more in damage you will clear/level faster. So it just depends on how u like to play
You would have plenty of AOE with Nightfall and any procs you get from gear and Devotion. Personally Spellbreaker is better for 2H Shadow Strike tho IMO.
Why are you set on nightblade? Nights chill is not really an aura (damage wise, it only tickles enemies), also all shield builds kinda want soldier for menhirs will and shield training, maybe even bulwark.
To answer your question: Shadow strike uses both main- and offhand weapon, but nightfall only uses your main hand.
I like to grab a skill early that helps with both offense and defense if possible. Not as familiar with nightblade, but Devouring Swarm and Wendigo totem are examples on the Shaman side (and vines to a lesser extent). If you went 1/10/1 on the Mogdrogen line, that would free up points for Devouring Swarm.
I’m actually trying to use a 1h/shield, really like that style… But I did start looking at Spellbreaker like you said and I am liking a bit more than Shaman. What do you guys think about something like this?
