Why not… and lets be honest its about as realistic as it gets and surprised its not ingame.
Raiders set one or two buildings on fire… the population scrambles to save the building or run and hide (sheer mayhem!) giving the raiders the advantage of moving in on their targets.
New unit “Raider Torchbearer” his sole purpose is to light buildings on fire.
I support this idea. They should pillage a home, then set it a blaze. Maybe not every single home, but randomly. Would give greater emphasis and importance to defence and wells.
The huge problem with this is the villagers will not put out fires while the raid is happening. They simply retreat. It’s made even worse by having on the town bell telling them to go inside. But if you turn that off then the town center building won’t fire arrows and villagers still retreat from raiders. So what happens is your entire city burns down because no one is trying to put out the fire.
Normally doesn’t happen much with my villagers… ill ring the bell and half the time their still walking around normally and sometimes walk right up to the raiders until the very last moment lol. Also my hunters usually assist the guards / garrison.
You do still have the power of selecting X villagers and ordering them a command. If the devs can program the ability to manually select some villagers and click on a burning building to “put out” the fire i would be happy with that.
Yeah, I’m just saying, as it currently stands it would burn down your whole town as villagers do not put out fires during raids. It would also become a mass slaughter when villagers would run out to put out a fire because the raiders would kill them.
Thats a great idea, but a very scary challenge though. This could be present in hard difficulties and less in normal modes. But yeah, would be great to give more emphasis to defending and managing wells.
