Reducing needed points for the core skill trees - How easy would this be?

I got about 70% of the way through the game with my fiancee before the game was released. We stopped and decided to wait for the games actual release and a few patches due to a few reasons.

  1. Game wasnt finished
  2. There were various issues causing frequent crashes in multi games
  3. Skills felt way too restricted due to lack of skill points until very very high levels. Largely due to how many points have to be invested in the core skill trees.

1 and 2 have been resolved (thanks devs)

#3 however is still an issue for us. Especially if we want to dual class. Needing 32+ points for both classes to even get access to many of the abilities is very unlikely unless you manage to play through the game in multiple difficulties reaching levels well above 50. And needing so many points in the base tree reduces how many points you can put in the actual skills themself.

At the pace my fiancee and I play through the game, i doubt we will get to 50, let alone higher than 50, by the time we beat the game on the default mode. This restriction of not having access to many of the abilties and skills from the trees is sorta putting a dampener on our fun level.

What Im curious about is modding the game (or finding a mod) that simply reduces/rebalances the number of points needed to advance each tier of a class tree. So for example, rather than it taking 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 points to reach each tier in a tree, instead having it toned down a bit. Something like 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 26, and 35. Something that would let us reach into the skill trees sooner, allowing us to enjoy a lot more options as we play through at levels below 50.

Ive looked into other mods that increase the number of skill points you get, but this solves one problem by creating another. Having that many more skill points makes it so other skills seem a bit too powerful, since you have so many more to spend on them.

Would adjusting these values be rather simple? Is there a mod out there that just primarily focuses on this?

Changing the skillMasteryTierLevel entries in records/game/gameengine.dbr is all it should require.
