Reflect Mobs

Noob Question probably. But can someone explain reflect mobs?

A lot of people here mention dying from them even with OP builds.

I have come across undead reflect mobs who have their reflect aura up.

I’m just trying understand certain things here. I’m a DEE WH who occasionally engages in melee combat. The fact that i’ve yet to die to such a mob (not trying to brag here) some questions popped into my head. I mainly need answers since i’m working on a new profile

  1. Do these mobs reflect instantaneous damage or can they reflect DoT as well?

  2. Do they reflect 100% damage? Does the percentage vary with difficulty?

  3. If they are indeed returning your own damage to you. Then wouldn’t the damage being dealt to you through reflection be “lessened” by your own resistances, armor and DA?

  4. If a monster is under Oleron’s Blood’s influence (Reduced Damage) would it affect the damage it deals through reflection?

  5. Can resistance reduction, stun inducing, confusion, Knock-back effects of attacks like Blitz, Flashbang, CoF and Veil of Shadows be reflected?

  6. Can life reduction be reflected- doom bolt, war cry?

  7. Did anyone catch the game last night?

/bump 10 char

  1. both.

  2. skeletal knight’s buff gives them 15% reflect, actual reflect effect returns 33%, and some shields that certain specific mobs can spawn with can reflect 36%+ with no warning. there’s also the little human mages who have their own reflect, which i’m not sure about the %

  3. yes the returned damage will be lowered by resistances, probably armor too if physical.

  4. not sure

  5. i know that flashbang can, and it’s rather annoying.

  6. not sure, sorry.

edit: just tested, break morale can be reflected by its value divided by the amount of reflect.

  1. Yes.

  2. Yes.

Having my own attacks reflected, huh? I guess those life saver skills (proc at % health) and Giant’s Blood have been kicking in the right time. I’m pretty sure things would be a lot tougher if i go with a class combo that doesn’t contain Nightblade or Occultist, since those are what i’m used to.

Thanks for replying guys.
