The reason I was asking about Grim Dawn player’s resolution size was in fact related to me thinking about resizing the X-Mod for 1440. I doubt I’ll make an additional version though, as I’m not wanting to maintain numerous mods anymore.
The only thing, besides asking CE for their data, is a very inexact method of just going through uploaded screenshots on Steam and checking the technical details of the uploaded files.
But nothing about that is necessarily representative of who might be using mods or X-Mod specifically.
I just checked a bunch of different users from the recent Grim Dawn Steam screenshots and it looks like: 1x 1024x768 1x 1360x768 12x FHD 10x QHD 1x 3440x1440 2x 4K
One could run some script and gather data from 10K different users, but it still wouldn’t necessarily be representative of people using the mod. A poll with honest answers might be that, but only a fraction of people would notice/participate, and responses would be dripping for X months or years heh.
1440 is certainly more future-proof, especially in the age of upscaling techniques like DLSS, where there’s really no reason to choose 1080 instead of 1440 going forward, as even with a weaker PC one could scale it automatically and overall have a better experience, not to mention productivity, browsing web etc.
Hello, I have a very simple method that can help you summon any NPC in GDX3 anytime, anywhere. Below are the console commands to summon these NPCs and the corresponding text labels for each NPC’s name. To use it, in a custom game, press the ~ key to activate the console, then enter the command for the NPC you want to summon at the cursor position, and press Enter. The NPC will then appear next to your character.
Since my English isn’t very good, I don’t know if I can help you.
I completely agree with you. Ultrawide monitors are definitely the way to go. If you’re a collector trying to hold onto every set item, unique, and legendary, you need all the screen space and resolution possible to manage a bigger stash effectively.
Based on what was shown for Fangs of Asterkarn, the number of tabs is increasing. When I pick up the expansion, I plan to create a version featuring maximum tabs and space:
The majority of Steam users uses 1920x1080 and I would keep your mod at that.
If you want to create an alternative for lower or higher resolutions that is one thing, but 1920x1080 is the most widespread, so anything else should be an addition, not a replacement.
So excited to see a download link! Tried it right away. Seems to work, but the quest widget moved to the same place as Big Caravan - that change is why I was hoping for a new X-mod instead. Am I hallucinating? It moved, right? Can it go back?
X-Mod doesn’t change that. I’m not using that mod, but such changes are very rarely tied to save games, so either you didn’t uninstall it (properly) or you forgot about some data file that has been replaced manually (I don’t recall that mod’s file structure).
Just to be sure backup you saves, and reinstall GD.
_Jj, thanks. You’re exactly right. I had an old file hanging out in my build directory from when I was trying out Big Caravan. Thanks for the confirmation and sanity check!
There is a section somewhere on the forum where you can request that, and maybe someone already has. Ultimately, though, it depends on the crate team to implement adding tabs freely but if a lot of people want it, there’s a chance they will add it.
If memory serves, it was talked about some years ago and seeing how it’s still not possible, I think the answer is obvious. I’m just thankful we can mod at all.
This has probably been asked before a gazillion times so please forgive me, but would it be possible to make a search bar for the inventory your character carries on him while playing?
With source code, in theory, everything is possible and it seems like a very small thing, but it can involve re-engineering a proportionally larger chunk of code to accommodate such functionality. Either way, after all these years, it’s safe to assume ‘we’re not interested in being bothered, that’s not a part of our design vision for this thing’.
Went against my plans and put a few more hours into GD. Mod works without any issues, but I’m just in Act2, once again- good job, it’s a massive relief.
