Request for Forgotten Gods

Back in vanilla we had 100% guaranteed items that could be looted off corpses or found in chests. Heavill’s Greatsword, Francis’ Gun, Bernard’s Slightly Chewed Buckler, Slithtongue, Ghavin’s Crossbow and Karvor’s Conjuring Boner

In Ashes of Malmouth we didn’t get any, which is kind of understandable because these items were meant to make beginner experience easier and AoM isn’t unlocked much later in the game but AoM didn’t even bring any upgrades to these items.

Forgotten Gods is a different story, it can be accessed after killing Krieg (apparently) so I hope you guys consider adding one or two weapons like these with some interesting procs on them and hopefully this time they get level 90+ variants.

I know with the sheer amount of MIs we have stuff like this seems unimportant but I personally loved building around some of these greens in vanilla days.

Definitely agree on this. Some of these weapons have interesting perks that allow you to make exotic concepts with them.

A Skyfallen Hevill’s Greatsword for example on it’s own could get up to around 65% conversion on it’s own, throw in Stormcaller’s Pact, an Amulet like Ultos Gem that does Physical to Lightning conversion and you could achieve 100% global Physical damage converted to Lightning.

Seems unimportant since by the time you get that far you have a build happening and a equipment stock. However, I can not yet anticipate why you may need special equipment to play the expansion.

He clearly stated, that he would wish for “special equipment”. No one but you used the word need. Just saying.

He was just politely asking for something he would find fun to play around with. Which is cool, GD being a game and all, you know.

Your right although he repeatedly referred to “special equipment” and I said “need” many times I do agree that items that you could create would be cool for a game.

Blimey, that´s correct, he actually did. Strange, that I would miss this.
You are absolutely right. I am so very sorry. Can ou forgive me?

We actually have. You can get cauldron of excitement from “unfortunate corpse” in the secret area of malmouth sewers.

What will be interesting for the forgotten gods DLC is an MI gloves with nice skill mod.

So havin more MI like those mentioned would be an issue…because?!?
If we get more sure drops AND they could be useful in some builds even later don’t really see ANY issues unless it’s the traditional “You need to grind for useful stuff”.
In the end EVEN givin us a sure set that can ease the journey isn’t away from anyone.

Well, the devs can give us both if they want. I don’t see any problem from it.

I want an MI gloves because there are some interesting prefix/suffix exclusive for gloves that I yearn to use.

Also, grim dawn is too deep of a game and too interesting. Better to immerse yourself in the gameplay and theorycrafting and practicing than doing senseless grinding over and over again. If you know what I mean…

But that’s just me. To each to their own…

Nice, my favorite was 2x Slithtongue

Never got a good Heavill myself but I recall TomoDak having one with near perfect rolls

Right, I keep forgetting about it since it’s an epic tier item but yeah things like that count as well.

I also would like some MI gloves tbh

+1 for MI gloves, though i would comletely fine with lvl90 yellow recipes like stoneplate greaves and co.

Problem with MI gloves is the fact that they are going to have very tough competition with some legendary gloves. Like Aethereach, Voidsteel Gauntlets, Iceskorn Talons, Chilling Grip of Hagarrad, Light’s Defender gloves, Unchained Might, Justicar gloves and probably a few more i’m forgetting.

Yeah but those very rare times when none of those many legendaries fit for my weird build it feels super lame to use Redeemer Handguards

And literally every other slot has either MIs or a lvl90 crafts, so having lots of great legendaries for a slot doesn’t seem to query the right of MIs for that slot to exist imho.

MI gloves would help first characters who don’t have any legendary gloves (or only non-useful legendary gloves). MIs are the only items in this game that one can quickly and reliably farm, and I’ve found a few quick MI runs (Cronley, Guardian of Solael, even Krieg for a shield upgrade) very helpful giving my first character a boost towards being able to start the pure-RNG side of farming.

Not everything is about BiS. It’s useful to have stepping stones between “random junk” and “near perfect”.

I wish that the MI gloves will also have skill modifiers. That will enable so many exotic interesting build or clumsy mastery combination like defiler.

Well defiler isn’t clumsy per se but I see what you mean. Some Fire damage to Ravenous Earth would be much appreciated for the Taco Bell Defiler

you can convert it and then add 2x chaos mods to it. Make it fire/chaos with thermiteshttps://www.grimtools.com/calc/YNnYXXwZ

Uh dude, I kinda alreadydid but focused on pure fire.

I know. I was just saying what i’d do for fire RE  I’d add the flat dmg mods with chaos because it would do more damage

Fire and Chaos sounds dope but the lack of RE duration bonus or flat CDR mods on non vitality items kinda hurts it. I never tried it myself by mixing two damage type but for Acid RE and pure Fire RE I faced this problem
