Reset Sans Menu

Had a thought while doing some MI farming. More than once, I’ve seen, and agreed, with complaints that it gets really old farming boss MIs. You log in, you run all the way there from the nearest riftgate, you kill the boss, you don’t get what you want, you log out…And it all starts over again.

The thing of it is, we need to run back because we logged out. And we needed to log out to reset the world map/state, the monsters and what not.

It seems like it should be possible to reset the map and the monsters… WITHOUT going to the menu. If we did that, we could farm the bosses without the tedious running back and forth. Presumably this would be trickier in key dungeons, where it would either have to charge a key (and thus kick you out if you didn’t have one), or just be disabled to avoid one key allowing infinite key runs.

I’m not sure this would ever have a place in the main game, but it seems like it’d be a good idea for a mod. Everything gained would still be “legit”, and it’d still take ages to get what you were aiming for, you’d just get to skip the tedious transit bit of your farming.

Can this even be done as a mod? Would anyone be interested in it? Can we dream of this being in the base game, after clearing Ultimate or some other benchmark?

I expected something about resetting the map without menu and being teleported to the spawn point (whatever city it is at the time), which is nice-ish, but resurrecting every mob on the map while the player stays put seems unlikely. Otherwise everybody would just stay in one boss room all the time.

I think if something like this were to ever be in the main game, it’d have to have some serious limitations - something like a rare consumable that respawns enemies within a certain radius, but can only be obtained as a Nemesis drop or via some kind of expensive crafting method. It’d be way too powerful a feature otherwise, since as much as it can sometimes be tiresome, “tedious running” is kind of an integral part of the whole grinding process. At least there are always heroes to kill en route, which makes things a little more interesting.

I can’t see the devs implementing something like this though, but I wouldn’t really complain if they did.

you wouldn’t be able to refresh a zone and stay in the boss room. It would be the exact same thing as logging out. You would use the rift map to refresh the zone and it would start you at the rift. I mean we are living in 2017 last I checked, shouldn’t have to use something so primitive as log out to refresh a zone.

I agree, but… A mod at least would be nice. The running doesn’t really add much, IMO. Maybe if MIs were a certain drop from bosses, it wouldn’t be as bad, but…

Until they finally got the boss MI they wanted, yes. But then… You’re ALREADY doing that, except with more running. The difference is in that transit time. Not doing this wouldn’t really improve anything.

Why not? Would we really have to move to respawn things?

I’ll be honest, I don’t know offhand what it would take to make this, but it certainly doesn’t seem like you’d HAVE to move, or have to use the rift map.

Still, being able to reset through the rift map would be an improvement IMO, even if it did drag you back to a rift for some reason. Maybe if it’d leave your portal around, you could still get much the same effect by dropping a personal portal outside the boss room.

The reason you would have to start back at the Rift is same reason why they don’t put rifts/waypoints right before boss rooms. They want you to work your way to the boss every time (even if you just run pass everything along the way)

A mod would not have this issue. Also, it’s technically possible Crate could be convinced to change their mind. Unlikely, but technically within the realm of possibility.

I’d probably go mental if I did “Kill boss, hit reset, kill boss, hit reset, kill boss…” for a certain amount of time

But increasing the MI drops of bosses is something I’d like to see as well. It’s already hard enough to get even a decently rolled one.

It gets old very fast, yes. But I’d call it an improvement over “kill boss, log, log, run back, kill boss, …”. Skipping a step would be nice.

I don’t think farming one boss or small area will ever be great in any game. In GD, I usually go something like this:

Dreeg, Solael, Fort Haron, Cronley, Warden, and then SoT or BoC.

If I’m interested in another boss MI, it gets thrown in the mix as well.

I’d probably get bored really quick without a change of scenery every now and then.

You could simply use GDTH and spawn the desired boss over and over again…

pourquoi le titre du tread est moitié français et moitié anglais?

Because “sans” has been Anglicized for years now.

Ah really , first time i hear that .Good to know ,which stuff popularized it if you know?
