Retaliation Tips

Hi all,
I’ve been playing Grim Dawn for quite a while now, and I would like to try a Retaliation build, specifically an Acid Retaliation Build, since I have almost every piece of the Perdition Set (4 out of 5).
Now, I know that it’s not viable in Ultimate, and that it’s not the most powerful build out there, I just don’t care, I am amused by the concept and I would like to try it :slight_smile:

I saw that a lot of people suggest an Occultist/Soldier, should I progress down this path?
I think that also Occultist/Demolitionist would be fine, because of the +80% to all retaliation damage given by a level 12 Temper…
Also Vindicative Flame seems to be good, even though it doesn’t count as retaliation damage, if I understand correctly, and stunning enemies and preventing them to attack me doesn’t seem an optimal strategy.

Thank you, I saw it, I think I can learn a thing or two from it, even though it’s really tailored on hardcore mode, which I’m skipping at the moment…
But I am now considering using a Demolitionist/Shaman build for the huge +% retaliation damage bonus… skipping the Occultist should not be too bad, even if I want to use the Perdition Set which is based on acid, I guess.
