I was wondering if anyone could help with a build?
I like to be at the center of the enemies casting my abilities on or around me not running around avoiding being hit.
So no kiting classes and Very high survivability is essential. Also I want to be doing the work not pets, 1 is fine but not a build reliant on them.
Also I have a few things from previous play throughs saved but not much so ideally the class should not be item dependent to start i.e I don’t have to have certain items saved from a previous character to make the build work.
Flashy spells and abilities would be nice but survivability comes first. I hate having to chug potions or plan encounters in these types of games. I just want to steam in as is the nature of an hack & slash ARPG.
I haven’t played in a few months so I’m sure builds have changed a fair bit so does anyone have any suggestions?
CT sorceror - this is basically what you want because CT is a “melee” spell after all. However, you will HAVE to use potions in the early levels as you have no heal. Make sure you get some haunted steel.
Sigil Witchblade - Basically an “anti-paladin” chaos/ vitality cadence build that becomes unkillable with the right gear. Sigil for AoE/sustain and cadence for single target dps. Just make sure to invest at least 20 points into spirit as Soldier has just 1 point increase / mastery level.
Sigil Vitality Conjurer - not normaly played as melee but you can make it work like that. Same as above with lower single target damage but greater debuff potential.
Physical cadence Markovian build - as you probably guessed…you need the Markovian legendary set for this to work optimally. However, the build is strong even without BiS gear. Not so many flashy special effects, but massively effective.
CT sorc is definitely what you are looking for, decent w/o items and very strong once you get the items. Definitely one of the cooler looking builds too! With callidors, devastation, flash freeze, flashbangs, thermite mines, and eventually procs from your relic/gloves there will be a constant flurry of effects. If you want a guide check out Most’s CT thread for information of what devotions/skills to use as well as a gear list of stuff you’ll want to trade for
Poison WH can be an up in your shit tanky dot caster with certain gear/devotion setups as well, but it is not flashy

This is the build you’re looking for. And a thread for it :).
It is the BEST combination of defence, offense and mobility in GD. With defence being one of the best among all builds :).
OP is somewhat outdated, look into the thread for more fresh info.
My last reply I mentioned my last character played was a retaliation Warder.
I noticed that the Cadence Witchblade is similar but obviously has the Occultist instead of the Shaman.
I’ve had a look through the Cadence thread and watched some videos but by not knowing the skills and spells of the Occultist tree I was wondering if you could give me a brief outline of the differences between the Retaliation Warder and the Cadence Witchblade.
