When I played some year ago standard advice was get to lvl50, beat Log, then go to Elite.
Now with the expansion, is that still the best route?
Also, when i assign Devotion stars to a skill; why can’t i choose every unlocked passive? For example, i use Inquisitor as one of my masteries and i can assign a devotion to “bursting round” but not to “deadly aim”, why is that?
Deadly Aim is a buff, Bursting Round is an attack. While both proc, they are not the same.
As far as leveling goes, just play through all the quests, kill a few mobs along the way, and kill Log, then proceed to the expansion area. It doesn’t really matter what level you are, as long as you can handle the content.
Most my characters always killed him at level 54ish. My last 2 did him at level 46. I stopped being a completionist after the expansion. It feels too long to do everything now.
It’s entirely up to you. Some people are finding the expansion harder than the base game. But then you do have 2 more Acts to investigate/explore/enjoy. Personally I don’t think I could go into Elite without trying out the expansion first.
If you do find it too hard or aren’t enjoying it that much you can always exit back to the character screen, change the game difficulty to Elite and carry on with the base game.
I think it depends on your build there’s screen wide AoE DoT’s, constantly healed to full boss (for those with OCD for murdering them); it might get a bit frustrating to do the new content, but it’s not necessary to do it in order to progress to elite.
Personally I found it like an annoying maze so ended up skipping and revisiting.
So if you aren’t having fun with it switch back to the main campaign on elite and level right up to about 70 and then go back to the easier difficulty level and complete it then.
I definitely recommend doing the expansion on Veteran, if nothing else, to open up the ability to gain faction points. If you wait until Ultimate, you’ll have to grind a while to get the faction up. If you start in Veteran, you’ll be Revered by the time you get there on Ultimate.
