Riftgate Start Trigger?

I’d like to be able to have riftgates start out as invisible until the character steps on the “portal pad,” as it were. I’m creating a mod in which the riftgates are not visible or activated till approach.

Does anyone have any ideas on implementation? What different records will i have to touch? What about graphics?

Couldn’t tell you the specifics, but I believe there are two FX for the rifts, one for active and one for inactive.

Simply replace the FX for the inactive version with a custom one that has no particles.
