Does anyone have any tips regarding setting up potion hotkeys and skill point slots? Can i set hotkeys for more than the defsult 10 skill slots ? I have more skills than available skill slots, I realise there is a second skill bar but it doesnt seem to have its own bindings, am i missing something here?
Generally you put your auras/potions on the second skill bar and keep your skills on the main skill bar.
Perhaps show your build / what skills you are using? Could be that you are spreading yourself a bit too thin and trying everything when generally it’s better to focus on a more select amount of skills.
It depends on how many extra slots you need. For energy potions just use the letter E, and for life potions use the letter R. Both are easy to access and ready to go, but you won’t be able to see the recharge time image. If that’s not enough then some skills can also be added to your right mouse button.
Thanks guys, the potion hot keys are what i was missing, and I did think maybe to use the second skill bar for auras, which i have done, now have 4 spare slots on main bar, thanks
I would like to resurrect this suggestion. I play a conjurer whose pets don’t always make it through battles (namely AOE on-death mobs and environmental hazards which they aren’t smart enough to avoid). Therefore, I like to keep them on my main bar to resummon (and the hound’s on-death damage is nice). I’ve got one summon granted by an item (soon to be another once I can make the item), the faction pet damage potion, pet attack (because they can be dumb without it), multiple specced summons, different attacks/curse for on attack devotion procs, etc.
On top of all that, I am even using autohotkey to streamline my process.
I’ve already run out of room on my primary bar, forcing me to downgrade my tankier pets to the swapped hotbar. Unfortunately, it’s a pain to swap in and out to resummon during boss battles because I use it so rarely, my muscle memory isn’t up to par.
Ultimately, having an option to make both bars visible simultaneously, or even allowing more than 10 keybindings in the options, would be fantastic solutions to this problem.
While most builds right now don’t need more than one bar, what are we to do when the level cap increases or there is an update which reworks existing content to add skill points, etc.? Using autohotkey isn’t terrible, but I don’t want to rely on player-created mods to make gameplay changes.
As you’re using AH it’s very easy to set up a second set of 10 hotkeys and not have to remember to swap the bars.
Simply choose the 10 keys you wish to use and then assign each key a basic macro of :-Press and Release [Y] then Press and Release [1] then Press and Release [Y]
Changing [1] to whichever hotbar slot you want to use for that key…enjoy
You know, I had written a script to do something similar with Sleep, 1 in there to give it a slight delay to ensure I would return to the original hotbar, but it always got a bit wonky in the middle of combat and would sometimes leave me on the wrong bar. I rewrote it to simply remove the sleep, and it works like a charm. Thanks for relighting the fire for me.
(I still wouldn’t mind seeing this fixed in-game so I don’t have to arrange all of my characters’ hotbars to align with my scripts though)
It would of course be totally cool, if we could just have both bars visible at all times and drag them to whatever place we want.
Plus 2 extra bars please.
I´d love to have extra bars for Oils and Ointments and so on.
Sure, I can open my inventory, select the bag I store them in, look for the ointment I need, find it and then click it, and hope I survive while doing it, but …
