S&B Warlord 50/50 Offense/Retal - Advice on Devotions?

Morning,

Have levelled my S&B Warlord to 80 so far (https://www.grimtools.com/calc/62aMBgE2) and am at the point I’ve got my key target Devotions in place :

  • Ghoul
  • Assassin’s Blade (Cadence)
  • Hammer
  • Anvil (Counterstrike)
  • Lion
  • Eel
  • Empty Throne
  • Typhos
  • Oleron (Guardians of Empyrion, aka the Lawn Mowers)
  • Shieldmaiden

Very happy with how the above mix plays. Playing a heavy Cadence/War Cry/Overguard focused play style with a lot of ‘on hit’ reactive procs, block effects, and the two lawn mowers chopping things up once Justice pulls them in.

However, I’ve got 8 or so remaining points to put into my Devotions and I’m torn as to where to put them.

Options:

  • Autumn Boar - only just decent nodes, good low cooldown on-block AoE proc that would work well with my high block uptime.
  • Ulzaad - very good nodes, proc is very powerful but my options to reliably proc it are limited.
  • Azrakaa - very good nodes, proc is also very powerful but again limited options to proc it, also partial focus on Piercing damage which I am not stacking.
  • Dryad - poor nodes but powerful and reliable heal on low cooldown.
  • Scales - could be a good option for powerful passive healing, but also sounds too good to be truie - noob trap?

Any suggestions on the above or whether I’m better looking at another option (bearing in mind I’m very happy with my existing devotion choice and am not in a hurry to change them, the playstyle is a lot of fun).

First of all you have a very low OA and giving more skill points to crushing verdict will help to reduce the opposition’s DA to your level and it’s almost mandatory if you really wanna hit. I have made some changes just only in devotions so no play style changes. This might help for your your build, atleast give some idea. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/gZwERvK2 now you have better retal and better damage also a bit higher speed and usefull procs to both war cry and judgment which they are crucial to you I believe, though you should max squad tactics and rebuke also.
