Keep that savagery stack up, blast packs with blade arc and kill heroes/bosses with savagery, debuffing with warcries. Thoughts on the cleansweep transmute ? I’d rather not have to rely on feral hunger procs only for aoe while waiting for blade arc to come off cd. Feel free to convince me otherwise.
Wendigo, Mogdrogen’s (w. Heart of the Wild), Field command provides nice survivability and some damage.
Regarding dmg proc devotions: I’m thinking assassin’s blade for savagery and possibly huntress or falcon for blade arc.
If you have any suggestions for talent tweaks or any other input, please let me know!
This build is viable, actually there are some similar builds in build compendium that can be used as references. Just note during leveling phase, you need enough OA, it will not be good if you miss a transmuted blade arc.
If you’re going Savagery, go for the Transmute. Also you don’t need so many points in Wendigo Totem for survivability, Feral Hunger procs and 1 point in Wendigo is all you need. Take one point in Blindside, it’s pretty good and once you get skill boosting equipment it’s insanely good on bosses.
You don’t really need Savagery for single target though, Blade Arc alone wipes out packs and bosses with it’s high bleed damage and crit damage.
Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it! I think I’ll try Blade Arc both with and without the transmute for comparisons sake.
@Misguided/SgtHart: Since I plan to attach Assassin’s Blade to Savagery and plan to use Blade Arc as supplemental AoE in this particular build (I do love swarm/grasping though, using them on a hardcore vitality damage totem conjurer atm :)) I guess I should go with Huntress Rend attached to that, and skip Falcon’s Swoop ?
I was thinking of a Bleed/Physical 2H Warder going for Primal Bond instead of Oleron’s due to playing hardcore and it having damage absorption and damage bonuses instead of all out crits. Falcon Swoop, Rend and Acid Spray, using Devouring Swarm and Grasping Vines to proc and for AoE damage. Savagery up at all times while also having it for bosses who take a time to bleed out while maintaining a good amount of defensive devotions.
Going for as much + skills as possible, i think +5 soldier +3 shaman. I’ve self found a good chunk of the items for this build too. Its on the to do list.
You’re right - Primal Bond is the superior choice, I’ll revise accordingly, thanks! I still might try Savagery + Blade Arc + Devouring instead of Savagery + Devouring + Grasping though. I assume you bind Acid Spray to Savagery and the Swoop/Rend to Devouring/Grasping ? In the Savagery + Blade Arc + Devouring setup, would you bind Swoop or Rend to Blade Arc ?
I beat elite log today with max blade arc and the transmuter (no modifier), vines, swarm, and a single point in savagery.
Vines and swarm are all you need for trash. I’m not sure the additional points in savagery are worth it. For Log, I spent most of my time at a distance dealing with other mobs. I’d hit swarm and vines from a distance, or when I could, blitz in, drop Wendigo, then swarm/vines and hit blade arc as soon as the icon for blood pact popped up, then get back out.
I have swoop and rend on swarm and vines (have gone back and forth). Don’t think I have anything on blade arc at the moment.
Yeah, I guess a transmuted Blade Arc wouldn’t make much of a proccer, would it ? Guess it’s really only worth it on spammable abilities like a non-transmuted blade arc, a devouring swarm or a vine (and I do think the transmuted variant of blade arc is the best option in this setup, so probably not a viable candidate for a devotion proc).
Could you post you skill point assigment choices ? I’m having some trouble getting all the skills (blade arc + devouring + grasping (with mod)) to decent levels while still keeping all the other buffs/passives at a decent level as well. I like to plan without +skill items involved, i’d rather adjust the build on the fly if i run into said items rather than assuming i’ll find/get them all. (I might be struggling because I have a really hard time skipping out on the blade arc laceration mod and I can’t seem to help wanting to max out savagery :))
Yeah, in my case, I don’t have anything past 20 soldier side, so laceration would be 24 points. I could post what I’m doing, but not sure it will help because I am sword & board.
I switched from cadence/fighting form to blade arc + transmuter earlier today, freeing up points to put in fighting spirit down the road.
The key abilities are: blade arc, fighting spirit, war cry, swarm, vines x2, HotW, and primal bond. The only one of those that I don’t plan to max is war cry (have 10 there).
Currently, I have Wendigo maxed and plan to max blood pact eventually, but I’m starting to wonder if that is really necessary. It certainly want on elite, but I have a feeling I may need it more often on ultimate.
Raskolnikov - I would make a choice between Blade Arc or Savagery as a main attack skill, points can be better spent elsewhere. Both are good options but I’d prefer Savagery with my proposed build as you get 8% more physical resist and all damage is modified by an extra 10% while savagery is up which is really strong. Some people might even use Savagery with 1 point just for the transmuter and just attack every so often to keep it up.
Yeah Blade Arc Transmuter isn’t really worth having a devotion attached to it. Without Transmuter I’d attach Falcon swoop with Rend on Devouring Swarm.
Blade Arc with the transmuter is working for me. My build has evolved into a hybrid caster in the sense that I don’t need to melee most enemies unless I just feel like it. Swarm/Vines/Falcon/Rend do most of the work. I’m only using Blade Arc against bosses, heroes, and really high health targets (hulks, obsidians, etc). And then, with the transmuter, blade arc matches up with Swarm, so when I refresh swarm/vines, it’s time to hit blade arc too. I had tried that before with other skills (e.g. decapitate) and didn’t like the feel of it, but with the same cooldown as swarm, it’s fine.
…2H Savagery / Blade Arc (transmuted) is most likely going to be my next build (currently levelling a dual wield Saboteur and may get round to completing Ultimate with my Commando)!
I made a test build with blank lvl 75 character & Sidekick weapons and got up to ~50k on the sheet damage with BladeArc damage, +98% crit damage (saw at least a 2.98 crit modifier) so I recon I could break 200k damage at 85
