Here some ideas about the school and the skill/education system.
I would wish if the school would be more integrated into the game.
Currently you just build it and thats it.
Ideas:
School should become some items which are needed (new production chains) - Paper - Books, Furnitures (already existing)
School should have more inpact in efficiency as the items are expensive to produce
Every citizen has their own “skills” It would not make sense to take out an tanner and put him as fisher and he has the same efficiency. That would mean that a citizens has as an example skills like:
handwork, hunting insticint (which is good for solider, hunters, fishers, …) and others
Based on #3 the school can produce boosts for skills by selecting how you want to “educate” your citiziens (e.g 25% hunting insticts, 10% traders, … ) not specific tasks but more as group.
If you fullfill the needs for the school the faster the citizens are educated (as children) and are faster to produce stuff or are better in trading, solider etc.
Maybe an upgrade for School → University with Tier3 or Tier4 Town Center. University Graduates would have strong skills in a specific area.
Make University a prerequisite for higher tech items/buildings.
This will be a long time coming as it’s a ton of code additions, but I think this is an amazing idea and hope we see it some day!
This is a big enough change I’d even take this as DLC for a cheap price with maybe the school having your suggestions at a tier 2. Like tier 1 stays like current, and the education points get spread across all skills just a little (think k-12). Then tier 2 becomes a controllable focus learning center (think college).
