The first expansion seems to be doing well according to Zantai. And there’s a possibility we might get another expansion if the first one sells nicely
I personally prefer it if they work on GD II on a new engine but many in the community want another expansion so what features would you like to see in it?
I won’t make a poll so reply with whatever you desire
My list
Transformation -
Engine limitation of Grim Dawn doesn’t permit it now, but some long coding hours and shit-ton of caffeine can probably fix it. It is resource consuming and hence is unlikely but it is something very popular in ARPGs, so it’s on the list
New Weapon Classification (staff/bow etc) -
I think its a nice change of pace and a cool feature. Adds to build diversity and supports different playstyles
New enemy (one of the deities and its followers) -
Red and Green are fine but I think its time to bring one of the players of the meta-plot into the picture. Preferably not as a single enemy or a string puller but as a new faction/enemy type
Dragons -
I think Zantai said that Jagged Wastes is fully of Dead Dragons, I’d love to see a “live” one. Be it actually alive or undead
Better Crafting System Interface -
No seriously this is pretty much needed
I say that not because this one’s story doesn’t make sense, but because I don’t know where things would go from here. The transition of killing the Loghorrean and stopping the Cult of Ch’thon to stopping a looming Aetherial threat that was initially responsible for turning the world upside down was fairly obvious and sensible. While neither threat is completely squashed, there aren’t exactly any leads to progress forward on them, either.
As I see it, there’s only a few (main) storylines we’ve been exposed to that aren’t concluded yet:
Kymon’s/Korvaak
Uroboruuk et al
The Three
The Circle
Ulto Treig
Our previous exposure is important because it’s the basis for keeping the story congruent with itself. Of those, I think The Three would be the best for addressing in a single expansion, as the Korvaak/Uroboruuk/Circle situation seems far deeper than that and the Bloodsworn presence has been all but crushed, seemingly making Treig a viable candidate for a “hidden path”-style boss, but not much more than that.
Its a nice suggestion. But I always considered all of them kinda related to one another. My reasoning is fairly linear though
Korvaak is the only power besides Chthon whose presence can cause enough disturbance to make the most powerful beings known to us “jittery”
-The Aetherial High Command or The Circle seem to want to achieve their goals before “Their Eyes” fall upon Cairn. It could be an allusion to the Primordials, and Korvaak is definitely one of them
-Korvaak has already walked Cairn once before, and Uroboruuk is almost incomprehensibly old so it’s likely the “familiar feeling” he has gone to investigate is Korvaak
-The Three rule over the Eldritch Realm and something powerful seems to have drawn their attention. It could be Korvaak.
My point is regardless of what plot-line they pick it is very likely they’ll have to tie it up into the Primordial meta-plot
Wands as basically caster guns (damage type wise), with skills of existing masteries considering these if they are limited to some weapon types (so not just to be used by new masteries)
Two more masteries, have not really thought about their focus though, probably one melee/ranged (physical) and one caster (acid/poison + aether/chaos maybe)
Uroboruuk storyline, make him an uber boss or something, only as side quest line, main focus stays on A/C obliterating the world
Not entirely sure where to take the story next lore wise, maybe close for good whatever rift the A/C manage to enter this world through
Considering Creed’s 9th and 10th notes, I’d say going after Korvaak would make more sense, as now the Aetherial and Chthonian forces were “defeated”, so now I believe that Creed will start investigating the Korvaak and Kymon marriage issue.
What gave you that idea? Is it because the 10th note mentions Kymon? I mean I kinda agree with you but he seems more fixated on Ulgrim’s powers than anything else atm
Serious question, does anyone take the Ravager seriously? He seems like a comic relief (except in battle)
The fact he mentions how he is also interested in what Kymon has awoken, during his absence to the Luminari?
He doesn’t really states Korvaak, because he is not even aware about him, but he does comment on if Kymon really got call Empyreon, and on how he felt a malevolent force on the Kymon representant that was sent to Homestead for you to chose if the Black Legion would side with them.
BTW I also like to see the Luminari and the Gildan Arcanum as well.
Werebeast - A Werebeast Mastery would be really cool, transforming into half animal/half human beast to wreak havoc for short bursts of high damage and then other abilities that tap into your animalistic connection as support in between transformations. The abilities for transformations would start out short and basic but as you spent points on the skill the duration and other abilities would unlock for the form. I think 2 to 3 forms would be ideal, one common like a Werewolf form and then the other two take inspiration from the game world and do something a bit more unique.
Plague Doctor - A plague doctor type mastery would be really interesting, using alchemic concoctions to poison, disease, and weaken enemies while using others to heal and buff yourself or group. I could also see it taking maybe a Dr. Frankenstein sort of bent where a mid ability lets you summon some sort of poor experimented upon wretch to assist you providing intermittent buffs or healing but not much of a direct combatant.
Drunken Fighter - A Drunken Fighter would be a melee specific mastery that focuses on punches, kicks, and other martial arts attacks with high evasion. He’d also have a buffing system that would have him drink spirits which would boost him one way in an extreme while debuffing him somehow. Also he’d utilize disorienting abilities and stuns on enemies.
Considering Creed isn’t aware of The Hidden Path, Daila’s past, The Circle. It might be that our next enemy is something related to the Kymon plot-line but then again we’re allies with them (some are) so I am not sure how things will pan out
He is also aware of rumors about a certain beast God in “sunny valley”
That’s definitively Ravager, so no surprises there.
I personally would like to go to the Capital of Erulan (or is the Capital called Erulan?), however that would be a big expansion.
I however think that we will see some small content updates like Hidden Path over the next several months, that will start expanding on the lore tidbits we’ve seen in AOM till now and probably some new lore as well, but an expansion is probably far away and Crate probably already has decided what it is, and hopefully started development on it.
I’d like to see a totally epic conclusion, the arrival of the Primordials would be awesome, Korvaak for end boss ! I admit that reading all the lore stuff in English is not compatible with my play time so i don’t know enough to comment more on story.
On gameplay, a new weapon category would be nice, and of cours one or two new masteries. Maybe a shield based mastery (seems to have been in the air at some point) and i’d love to see an Engineer (mechanical summons, buffs, ranged attacks…).
AoM brings so much new stuff on the table that i don’t expect the second expansion to do the same, if it happens.
Well Barrowholm is also kind of sunny, so it could have meant Ravager too. And Mogdrogen’s actually situated at a sort of a cliff rather than a valley.
It’s called Asterkarn Valley, it’s pretty bright and green there compared to the rest of the pre-Ashes of Malmouth game so I always used Sunny Valley to describe it. But I guess the phrases fits Barrowholm more now with AoM’s release
Ravager might be the strongest boss in the game but I doubt he’s a player who holds any significance in the meta plot
I wanna know why tf is there Korvaak on the desecrated shrines.
I wanna know both the Kymon/Uroboruuk storylines
4.I wanna know whom “Their Eyes” are refering to
5.I NEED to know more about the Three since my main char is a Witch Hunter.Pretty sure they’re not bad guys.
6.I’m not sure what happened to the girl at the end of Port Valbury who said she’s going to Malmouth.
Yeah, it’s probably Mogdrogen then, I doubt Creed would really be concerned with Ravager, and for that matter I doubt Ravager is even a god because all it took was literally one lousy sacrifice to summon him. Even Loghorrean is stronger than Ravager in that sense because of all the blood it took to summon him, and to break the seals. We know this because we know it takes more blood to summon stronger monsters from the void.
I’m pretty sure Ulgrim’s story will be revealed in time. I can’t make a guess yet though, I’ll probably have to go and do some research to determine which of the gods we know about is him.
Korvaak is there on the desecrated shrines probably because he doesn’t care about any of the other gods and he desecrated the shrines to prevent their worship as a result, although is this actually true for every desecrated shrine? I ask this because the shrines spawn different monsters for the area they are in, and that would be weird for a god.
Kymon’s story is probably already over. Creed talks about him a bit, and there’s the Kymon’s chosen storyline. However, more hints about Korvaak should soon appear with Creed taking an interest in Kymon’s Chosen, and Kymon will probably have a part to play in that as well.
Point 4 Fairly sure it’s all of the gods that are now taking an interest in Cairn since the denizens are soundly beating both the Chthonians and the Aetherials, and this also ties in with major characters such as Uroboruuk and The Three searching for the gods/spirits that are perhaps attempting an invasion
We just had the Hidden Path and the new Coven thingy, so perhaps more rep will unlock more quests about the Three.
Not sure I remember which girl you’re talking about.
Also, I wanted to know what happened to that girl who was travelling with Mornay and choose to stake out her own path. Forgot her name. I hope she appears at some point.

What you said makes a lot of sense since at the end of Kymon’s questline we find out that Korvaak lost pretty much all of his worshipers (Forgotten God) so he ain’t that powerful anymore and needs more worshipers of his own to become greater than C’thon. And yes he appears on every desecrated shrine.
Not sure I remember which girl you’re talking about.
After you beat Van Aldritch you can descend into his cellar where a woman talks to you saying her daughter was sent to Malmouth and she will go after her.
that girl who was travelling with Mornay
Elisa I believe was her name, but yeah my guess is as good as yours.
