So I have 371 hours sunk into this game so far. Probably not a lot for some of you but for me that’s the most I’ve spent in any of my steam games! I think only WoW and Hearthstone would be higher. I’ve been taking a big long break for the game knowing there was an expansion coming up, and I have the terrible habit of burning myself out before new content hits. The thing is, I’ve never “completed” Ultimate (i.e.e done the main story 3 times on a character). I’ve gotten to Ultimate like twice? I think, but I normally make it to act 2 maybe 3 and lose interest and reroll another character.
I’m not at the point of wondering, after my break I’ve had, if it’s worth finishing ultimate before the expansion comes out? The biggest issue I have is I get bored with what I’m playing by the time I reach there and it does take awhile (for me at least) to even make it to Ultimate difficulty. I have tried every class combination and haven’t really found that one that I can say “yes, this is me”, to make the whole grind up.
I also haven’t done much with the crucible. Killing waves of monsters over and over just… isn’t really my thing. I prefer sort of “mapping” end games to arpgs. Is there any need or benefit to do a bunch of crucible stuff before the expansion as well?
Oh ok, I’ll go and have a look then. Do you have any suggestions of a build that may be good for going through the game start to finish? I’m thinking of just starting over as I don’t have any legendaries or gear sets anyway outside of the level 50 guaranteed one (in which I got havoc all 3 times of doing it… yay).
I’ve given the Build Compendium V a browse but everything seems to require certain gear items. I don’t know how true that is but a majority of the guides are written that way from what I’ve seen.
