silly question about laceration

This is probably a silly question about laceration, but just wanted to make sure I under stand it…

The tool tip for laceration (reading it from grim calc so maybe grim calc is just wrong…) says “…causes Blade Arc to strike more enemies…”

Blade arc has a damage arc of 180 with max targets of 5 and causes bleeding
Laceration has a damage arc of 100 with max targets of 6-9 and cause internal trauma.

So my question(s): Although we can strike more enemies, the area of which we can strike those enemies is reduced from 180 to 100, correct? This doesn’t apply the bleed to 5 targets in a 180 arc and the internal trauma to 6-9 in a 100 arc, right? (assuming some targets would only get IT if above 5 or only bleed if the 5 targets are outside 100 degree arc but within the 180) See…silly question, right? Most skills seem to expand the AoE or specifically state it “focuses” which typically means stronger by smaller… semantics is not my specialty…

On a side note…is it just me that thinks the rest of the tool tip on Laceration “…causing bleeding.” seems a little odd as, although it increase bleeding damage, it causes internal trauma where blade arc is actually “causing” the bleed damage…

Well my Warder currently has 10 in Blade Arc and 10 in laceration (changed some gear had to jig some points around) and it hits 12 enemies in a 280 degree arc (any enemies directly behind your toon won’t get hit) and seems to bleed/trauma all of them.

Not entirely sure because most trash mobs die instantly with 8 stacks of Savagery up and a high damage roll, however, I have no doubt someone more knowledgeable can kind give a more in-depth account.

oh, so it ADDs 100 degree arc and 6 more targets… That’s sounds much better!

I get confused on what modifications add to the original and which one change things about the original… most are easy, but targets and arc seemed confusing.

Thanks for answering my question! I may need to respect some things to get laceration sooner…

Yeah, the description is extremely confusing. Only picked up the skill as a test a lvl 75 to see if it really sucks as bad as the description implies…but its actually pretty nice
