Skull key / Steps of Torment giving a bit of frustration

There’s a shrine on third floor SoT. It’s Valbury that has no shrine.

Steps of Torment is actually the ONLY dungeon, where you find more Ectoplasm than you waste on Skeleton Key. And Ectoplam is the ONLY really rare and valuable component for the key, as Blood of Chton can be easily farmed in large quantities, and it also drops in Crucible.
I dont understand your complain.

Well I’m sitting on more than 200 Ectoplasm and probably also 200 Blood over character.

Running SoT as a Team for Anguish/Dread might gave me a lot of those Ectoplasm (running as a 2-3 players team while spending a key only each 2nd or 3rd run will help you fill up your need in Ectoplasm). I’m in the process of completing Character #6 right now (First Five are level 85 one has farmed a lot the other not that much)

Had to dive deep into gaming lingo to decipher “necroed” only to find out it is not the case. Version is 1.0.1.0 and point is right on topic.

I was pretty confident when Alkamos dispatched me in two seconds. Like the original poster I felt it was impossible to overcome. I am simply telling him that despite all my self-imposed constrains, it can be done with fine tuning. To define cheating is a little subjective, let’s say instead, I like the audacity of beating the game as a purist.

What is “purist” in context of GD?

Outcast’s quests are not mandatory. You can go until act II from Elite, and then come back to SoT from Normal. It will be a walk on the park.

Rank1- YAWYG. You are what you get. No farming, no item transfer, no reruns.
Rank2- No leveling. Beat the thingy when available at your current level.
Rank3- No tail-turn. You can side step out of an AOE but no kiting, hit’n’run or recharge
Rank4- No health/energy potions

Pick your audacity rank.

Looks like a load of bullshit you’ve just came up. Even in D1 you had to kite in order to pass the game, and this is the most purist game by the current year standards.

Suit yourself. Rank zero.

I only died once in SoT with my first character and that’s because i got surrounded by like 5 heroes plus two skeletal golems in the death room. Character was self found.

Since then i pretty much breezed through this dungeon with any character on all difficulties with not much issue. If anything, this dungeon needs a difficulty increase, even after the buffs to undead.

Port Valbury sure as hell much harder than this dungeon. BoC is in between.

The purist in me generally does not use consumables such as Aether Clusters etc.
Even I learnt the hard way that vs Moosy you drink a Hoarfrost Ointment or stay forever frozen.

I’m sure your attitude will change when encountering tougher enemies or when running Port Valbury where kiting is mandatory.
