Solael's/Second Rite mechanics

With regard to this discussion, does the term “Weapon Damage” apply strictly to the flat damage on the actual weapon, or does it include, say, the flat piercing damage on Dual Blades? For example, would the %Pierce increase on Fighting Form increase that Dual Blades flat piercing damage, or would it only work if I had a weapon that had flat piercing damage (or conversion to piercing) on the weapon itself?

Weapon damage will include any flat damage on the character. Be it from passives, devotions, gear, buffs, etc.

Awesome. So Fighting Form at level 3 (+30% Pierce) will make my the 48 flat Pierce damage from Level 4 of Dual Blades into 62 Pierce.

The Armor Piercing attribute on most weapons is physical to pierce conversion. You can easily get most or all of your physical damage converted to pierce by using swords which have a high AP percentage and then using the Blades of Nadaan constellation which doubles the AP rating of your weapons.

No. The damage dual blades lists already includes all global %pierce sources. The FF modifier will be addative with those global sources so youll get like 1 extra piercing damage.

Can the mechanics of this game get any more confusing or complex? I don’t understand what you said, can you elaborate as you would for a small child?

Edit: nm, I figured this one out on my own. I think it’s dumb to show the post-calculation damage on a skill tooltip personally. How all but the most dedicated and advanced players of this game have any idea how all the mechanics of this game work…a lot of this stuff should be in Crate’s guide, simplified somehow.

Thanks Guurzak, this is very useful info. I always wondered why almost nothing had pierce conversion on it, now I know I was wrong.

Blesed whetstone component for weapons also increases (converts to) armor piercing for 50%.

Yup, put that on last night. Is it additive or multiplicative? Meaning does it add a full 50% conversion to piercing, or is it adding 50% of whatever armor piercing is on the weapon already?

It’s multiplicative like Blades of Nadaan. A 0% AP club plus a blessed whetstone is still 0% AP.

I’m not sure how blessed whetstones interact with dual wield- i.e. does a whetstone on one weapon also increase the AP% of the other? I would expect that it does but haven’t tested.

It works on both weapons, tested with my BM build.

That’s pretty sweet, thanks.
