Soldiers Dying of Old Age getting replaced

Is there a way to:

  1. Have soldiers who die of old age drop their gear rather have it mysteriously disappear. When an Archer kicks the bucket, that’s not bad. Lancers and Heavy Infantry really stink.
  2. Have soldiers replace themselves when they die (or retire at age 95) rather than the surprise of “Oh wait, it was the ONE JOB that won’t self-replace currently”?
