Solutions for spoiled food

Honestly, I find food waste to be deplorable, not only in the medieval setting of FF but also in the real world at this time, where hundreds of millions of people still dream of being full all the time.

Therefore, I hope that FF will have a mechanism to use spoiled food for other purposes.

There are 2 options for handling this:

  1. Spoiled food will be turned into animal feed with a shelf life of 12 months. Instead of eating grass, they will definitely be happy to eat carrots, cabbage, beans… even if they are no longer fresh. After 12 months, the animal feed will disappear or switch to the second option

  2. Spoiled food will be composted to increase the fertility of the fields.

Another option would be for villagers to pick up food that is nearest to being spoiled from the market / vendors, rather than a random selection. It’s more complexity but more realistic IMO - if you over produce food that goes off quickly in a short period of time it ought to spoil. Spreading out your food production across the year is definitely something the game should encourage and reward.

Also we should be able to add greens to the prevervist, representing pickled cabbage such

and after the changes to how much animals eat, I think absolutely, spoiled food should become animal feed.
