Some Problems with my Blademaster

Hello

usually I play some kind of casters in most of my games, I already have a level 60 Warlock and a level 79 Druid. I wanted to try something “new” and the combination of a Soldier and a Nightblades looked interesting. I am level 37 now and the enemies clean the ground with my face. I don’t know what I am doing wrong, I tryed different skill combinations but nothing is working. Is someone here who can help me a little bit? :frowning:

Here is my character: http://imgur.com/a/RadvC

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Elda

Put some points into Menhir’s Will, it will help you survive a lot better. You also don’t need Dual Blades maxed out, take out some points from it and put them elsewhere.

Thanks for your fast answer. I don’t think “Menhir’s Will” will work, because I need a shield or a 2-handed weapon :undecided:

Crap, just had a brainfart. Completely forgot you need a shield or 2h weapon to use Menhir’s Will. Disregard my post then.

Maybe get some x% Attack damage converted to health (if you don’t have it already). It helps a bit in tanking.

Looks like you are using bleeding weapons? I would advise you to farm the royal Hive in Rotting Croplands for a pair of derp slicers. Of Alacrity is a really good suffix but should be easy to outdo your current weapons. Also rush blades of nadaan devotion, it is a big dps increase. I also advise you to post blademaster questions in the classes, skills and builds forum, there are several very experienced and knowledgeable BM players there. Look for General Cash’s build thread, lots of good advice and help for blademasters there.

Try to max out Pneumatic burst and Shadow Dance. Get some health regen on gear. Also get Ring of frost for crowd control. Never let more than 3 mobs to hit you. Kite, freaze them with Ring of Steel asap, kill, repeat.

Playing with a very similar blademaster (Dual Blades, Pierce/Cold) and I’m pretty much cleaning house. I am not the most experienced player here but I do have a few pointers that could help. Since you are also going for weapon pool skills, you really should put 5 points on them to get the max 20% proc chance. Take the points off from Field Command, you don’t need that yet. Also move the points from Night’s Chill to Veil of Shadow, helps massively with survivability. Add a point to Ring of Frost, helps a lot with crowd control.

Bro tip : use blade arc with a 2h weapon for a fast leveling ! It’s very effective !

Max blade arc & laceration & military conditioning. For NB, use only pneumatic burst !

Also use Dire Bear constellation, it’s OP with blade arc.

When you’re 50+ with good weapons (derp. slicers from The Hive) respec into DW Blademaster.

Yeah I always level as blade arc too you just roll over everything that comes near you and you’re unkillable with menhir’s will and pneumatic burst. Leveling as dual wield kinda sucks

1 point in ring of steel. Constant aoe freezes, you will be taking a lot less damage

Leave shadow strike at 1 point and remove the point from NJE modifier. Remove points from decorated soldier elemental res is easy to come by and the other bonuses are whatever. It also goes 5% for one point then 3 -> 2. Just one point if you’re truly desperate for resists. Also take points out of field command, phantasmal armor, and anatomy of murder. Get pneumatic burst up to 12/12 asap and all of your weapon pool skills to 5/8

Dryad devotion is great for nightblades early game and is totally reasonable to keep late game too especially if you don’t have the sick gear. Has 100% proc rate on shadow strike everytime you pop SS you get an 8% + 350 HP heal once it’s leveled every 4 seconds.

Btw pro tip. When you have the points make an early spec out of Assassin’s Blade and grab Blades of Nadaan. Nadaan is a big dps boost while blade mostly does nothing for you now as we don’t crit for shit and not at all vs tanky enemies we would actually like the skill for, leveling it a little bit helps for later but delaying our leveling of it is not a big deal at all and nadaan is a big dps boost like I said

Derpmapteran slicers from royal hive/rotting croplands are you best friend for early damage. Try to get a good pair on each difficulty, can even farm the area at the end of each difficulty if you want more damage for next difficulty. Try to get ones with bonus physical/pierce damage and a shitload of attack speed

edit: turtle helps early, but blows ass later on. i vote to ditch it now, you shouldn’t need it with pneumatic maxed out and dryad as well

Thanks for all the answers.

I picked up the hints from everybody and changed some stuff. I wouldn’t call it totally overpowered, but it is way better than before.

I will continue testing this evening.
