Star pact change is garbage

On my rain sorceress I had to cast devastation 4 times to drop Galakros and that’s with Meteor Shower tied to devastation.

Aether devastation is still the strongest version plus you get Outcast’s Secret which is a no brainer. I don’t know if my version is weaker due to focusing predominantly on fire damage etc but elemental devastation lags behind imo and even if the MI head had +50% crit damage to devastation it would still lag behind.

Personally I think Sorcerer’s struggle to get their resistances up unless you use a set. I couldn’t find a feasible way to Aeon’s Hourglass either but mainly because I wanted Meteor Shower and Aeon’s Hourglass and the only possible path gimped my build severely. etc

The changes to Star Pact are welcome. There I said it.

Looking at Path of the Three (the Oathkeeper skill which is basically pact but for acid, it has fire>acid conversion too), this pact change could’ve been coming for FG. Making it less flexible while stronger for cold builds is really welcome. Idk if Trozan has space for devastation tho.

You need a better secondary damage. Even on the pre-nerf aether builds, Devastation wasn’t enough to push the monstrous cleartimes. It was Devastation + CT. In your case Mortar sadly isn’t great.

But that just ruins the “rain” gimmick…

Sure it was always aether damage that was the issue,
I mean pitro’s video of his mage hunter elemental ct/devastation 7 minute clear was faked somehow.

I stand corrected cdr/mirror/devastation was completely fixed by the star pact change. Nothing to see here

And the death of my aether sigil/devastation warlock build was totally warranted :wink:

Careful now, you may get the %weapon damage on CT nerfed.

It’s the gear support. CT is shit without homogenized damage (elemental counts as 1 damage type here because inq) so you need conversion options. Aether had lots of that from the start so it made really good Aether CT builds.
