Starting a Pyromancer, need opinions!

Good afternoon everyone. I’m starting a pyromancer (lvl 12 already) and need some opinions to see if I can make up my mind.
I envisioned my final build to be something like this http://grimcalc.com/build/1008-elyRBf (although i just hastily threw the skills on that Grimcalc just to post it here as an example, the values are not final).
I am thinking about equiping the Infernal Knight set and the Grim Fate sword. My problem is I have no idea what to equip as an off-hand.
I thought about a shield but somehow the idea doesn’t please me at all since I won’t be using any block stats.
Then I thought about a caster off-hand but I have not many of those.
Lastly I thought about equiping a second Grim Fate, but, for that, I would have to equip a relic on purpose of course.
So what I would like help with is, what kind of off-hand should I give my pyromancer? Any feedback will be appreciated!

I did write a guide myself for a ik pyro caster some time ago.

It performs very well even in 1.008 where bwc has been nerfed.

Now i’m raising another pyro with firestrike and grenado using barrelsmith’s twin set. Don’t know if you might be interested.

with FS i’d go DW pistol or 2H ranged, the skill is basically wated on a caster imo

edit : or DW ofc - a wpn based set up anyway

Thanks to everyone who replied to me, and thank you for the build links! I think I will go dual wielding two Grim Fates, really want to try and go melee pyromancer :stuck_out_tongue:

This I would be very interested in. That set seems so at odds because it’s screaming for auto-attack build yet it has no AS and gives buffs to demo spells.

i had in mind 4/5 of ulzuin set for that build, i’m 60 right now. Will let you know how it takes shape then i will try to run some valbury etc… to see how good it is. If it is decent enough i can consider writing a small guide.
