I’ve been watching my fishermen and it seems they just drop their catch when they are done and choose other tasks, leaving the fish for laborers to pick up. I’m guessing if the laborers don’t do this in time then the fish spoil, which might explain why I’m short of fish despite having 5 fishing shacks. Hunters don’t do this, they gather any carcasses in the area even if they didn’t kill them (i.e. guard tower kills).
FYI I’m at year 70 with 775 population, I overfished my lakes before but now I’ve spread out my fishermen I have plenty of stock, so that’s not the issue here.
I am playing version 9 patch 5 and also have this problem with fish, honey, wax, root veg and beans. I find them everywhere! It’s like the farmer or fisher was heading to take them to storage but got sidetracked and dropped them. On occation I do see someone else pick them up but I have never sat watching to make sure they were.
