Steam update did not work

Hi Folks.

Yesterday I wanted to update to the newest version via steam. Things happened… It got in a loop. It told me that there are files which were not correct. I could not repair them. When clicking repait it still wanted to download the update.

Solution was: Stop the update. Store the savegames if you do not use Cloud Savegames. I use Cloud Savegames and did not need to backup my savegames seperatly. After the update process was stopped uninstall the game via Steam UI. Wait some minutes… Install it again and it works like a charme…

Just for your info… The update process started again and again and for each attemp it was writing Gigabytes of files… movedf them… and deleted them again. For each attemp reading was at least 9GB… Writing something about 3 Gigabyte…

One thing I need to add which could explain this behavior: I have reinstalled my PC (Windows 10) and added the existing steam Library (was located on a different SSD) via Steam. Worked good. Better the expected… Did not need to reinstall Games. Steam just added the existing library and I could play without reinstalling every game. Sometimes it just installed the prerequisists of the individual game.

Honestly, sounds more like ya had a network hiccup and/or Steam problem which caused this. Doesn’t really look like a GD bug going by your description.
