Storage issues [BUG]

The game has started popping up a notification in the middle of the screen, telling me I need to build more stockyards, villagers have nowhere to store raw materials.

But I have 4 upgraded stockyards. Only one is full, and is ignored by builders and production workers stocking their buildings, even though it is often closest to them.

Files are too large to attach, even zipped, so here is the log file, and the complete folder for that save:

You should upload the save folder to a file sharing site like Mega, Google Drive, Dropbox. As long as it can be downloaded from there it’s good to go

I have noticed that these warnings appear when I have no storage for a particular item. Not when a certain class of storage is full. It is easy to make this happen. Disable water storage on all buildings and the wagon. This message will pop up after the next fire.

That may be what it is- I disabled water storage in stockyards after a fire, and it began happening after that. In fact, it is the reason that one stockyard is full. Nice catch.

Just build another storage for water only, I have the same problem before.

Yep. I will have to do that. But the notification is confusing- first time I have ever seen it (it may be the first time in 209 hours of play that I have disabled water storage in every stockyard), and I think of “raw materials” as wood, stone, planks, ore and such. Perhaps the notification needs to be re-worded to make it more clear- I have 10 upgraded wells or so (maybe more) in a fairly compact town, with 3 ponds/lakes in easy fishing range. So it never struck me that it meant “let villages stockpile water that they’ll never pull if a fire happens”, because they all go to wells or lakes instead of nearby stockyards to fight the fire, or put water into their shelters and workplaces.

I think the water gets stocked BECAUSE they pull it for a fire, then there’s water hanging around everywhere so the laborers stock it.

The question I have is if water is stocked why is it not used. In my current game my second stock yard is right next to the tanner. Should not the tanner use the stock water? One would thinks so but the amount of water never changes. Mind blowing problem.

I only allow water in the start wagon, works fine that way.

Have noticed this as well, same trigger of a fire and disabling water storage in stock yards and storage buildings. Eventually the water was used up, but the messages continue.

Heavy tools generated in the blacksmith get full (2/2) in production storage, and the workers will not transport them anywhere. There are three storage yards w available space set to accept heavy tools, but they don’t budge. I believe this is the cause of my recurring message.

This has been reported several times already.

Yep, that’s why I didn’t start a new thread about it…

Okay- 18 days ago I posted this, and it appears to not be a bug. The issue was already pointed out and found to be what was happening:

This isn’t a bug. It was simply a confusing notification that does not specify what the resource is that has no storage available. Adding other issues like with heavy tools is a bit off topic and deserves its own thread (which it already has several of).

@Zantai or @medea_fleecestealer - can one of you close this thread, since it was already determined to not be a bug?
