Strongest 2H Rifle Build

2H Ranged Primal Strike is awesome. Made an elementalist that deals Lightning+Fire, melts everything.

I’m currently leveling a ranged Warder based on Cadence. It dual wields guns but that doesn’t matter, the skills would be the same with a rifle.

  • Cadence and modifiers = physical/piercing/bleeding damage and bullets going through.
  • Grasping Vines = bleeding damage, huge CC, and very good at applying Rend to enemies.
  • Wendigo Totem = good heal, proper CC if you put Maul on it.

This…sounds pretty fun. I might have to try this one.

I tried something like that, on 60/30 phy/cunning BM and it is brutal, melts trash like there is no tomorrow. On this setup though I had to drop falcon and take different devotion setup to cover low DA issue, so all to cunning setup doesn’t have that uber AOE trash clearing speed.
Edit: Maybe ill work around something to take falcon back.

Yeah that’s a very enjoyable build so far (level 40).

I just realized Maul doesn’t work though. You can assign it to Wendigo Totem but you need a melee weapon… so I replaced it with Blades or Wrath, it’s crazy. You place the totem at your feet and wait for mobs to reach you, then BOOM 14 projectiles appear.

Edit on saturday: now level 47, I switched from Shaman to Nightblade actually.

  • Rend is bound to a maxed out Blade Trap.
  • Blades of Wrath is assigned to Blade Spirit, since they have independant cooldown and good AoE it procs more.

What’s your build for this? I’m trying the same thing…

Let me give my take on this before 1.0.0.7.

  1. Best overall rifle build = Harbinger Cadence WB . There is actually no comparision with anything else if you take into account all aspects that make a build great: dps, survivability, CC, escape. AoE is rather lackluster but it doesn’t matter that much in the end if you plan is farm Nemeses. CONS: massively boring build.

  2. Tier 1.5. rifle builds =
    A) Gutripper Cadence Warder - huge dps because of the bleed DoTs, nice survivability and debuff potential, average AoE but still good. May have problems with undead mobs, though;
    B) Gutripper Cadence WB - huge dps due to DoTs, good survivability, massive debuff potential AND…most importantly…huge AoE because CoF+Rend+Guttripper proc assure you an entire screen dies in 2 seconds. Can manage the Undead problem due to CoF - just switch to the Adversary (nice physical damage rifle) and cast CoF.

Tier 2: Aether Sorc
/ END THREAD

If I tell you that I just drooped dummy for 34 secs with 2h ranged pierce/cadence bm will that change your mind
Cadence wb cant come close to that result, tho its have more survivability.

Yes…I would put it on Tier 1.5., because the massive Harbinger proc is what makes the first build OP. There are many circumstances (such as facetanking the Mad Queen and avoiding 100% of her retaliation aura projectiles) where 100% dodge and deflect is almost like a prolonged Mirror. Add to that the 14-15% reduction from Possesion which will cost 0 mana in 1.0.0.7. and you have a pretty strong character.

2h ranged BM is boss, ofc. I like it and have played it, but I am sure as hell that it won’t do that good in a HC environment.

Tier - 1 Builds imo need to include survivability and good DPS. Harbringer Set’s Granted Skill gives you great survivability and if you add other defensive layers like MoD and some other items it’s awesome.

Though i disagree using Harbringer with Cadence, wouldn’t Fire Strike make much more sense (Brimstone FTW)? I haven’t made a build myself since i’m missing the mask. But i have a fire strike harbringer in mind.

As for the Cadence BM you’re talking about would it be the same 0 Phys/0 Spirit Silverbolt build that you refuse to share :stuck_out_tongue:

The catch with Harbinger Cadence WB is that enormous 450% WD you have on the third hit. Add enough attack speed and you won’t notice the bad AoE because your bolts will penetrate mobs and crit them for gigantic numbers. All that HUGE flat chaos on the set, Solael + Possession gets added to the third hit.

The fire strike line has mostly spirit-dependent damage => better for Ranged Sorc than Pyro. Sure, AoE from brimstone is nice and all but that will make you a glass cannon going for 50/50 in both masteries in order to get Possession.

By comparison, due to scaling reasons you need only a 8/12 in Oleron’s Rage to make it work and around 6/12 in Possession due to the +skills you get from the set.

I dont play HC so dont know, but definitely anything with better survivalbility is better in hc environment imo. Survivalbility vise WB is better than BM, dps and speed wise BM is much better and BM has better aoe and cc, overall it comes to personal preferences.

Tbh hb set is really uber 2h set so it doesn’t make much difference.
I have both setups FS and Cadence, WB and pyro. Diference si WB = better single target dmg, Pyro = better AOE, CC and survivalbility.

Yes it is, its almost finished, I need just to check few more devotion setups and its good to go

No it will not.
