There’s a several things in this game that make me struggle to fully engage with it. I get this is a game and a simulation but many things make it not feel like a “real place”. I am enjoying the game and am excited to see it grow and improve. These are just my thoughts in how I might feel more iMmErSeD.
- The rate of time passing.
a) Villages walk from one side of town to the other and the time taken is measured in the passing of days.
b) No day night cycle except for one single night on the last day of winter. Of course at the current rate of time passage a day/night cycle is likely to cause seizures.
I feel like the duration of each year could be longer. Buildings could take longer to build, goods could take longer to produce, etc… When a wolf attacks someone the whole ordeal can take weeks to deal with. I am aware you can speed up or slow down game speed. It’s more just “what gets done and how long it takes (in game days)” I’m commenting on.

Farmers don’t need to physically be in the fields to work them. I’ve seen my crops get planted and worked without farmers present. I have tested that if you manually move them away from the fields they don’t get worked but I’ve seen the weeds disappear from fields that have no workers presently on them.

No religion? I’m surprised there isn’t a Tier 2 wooden chapel (that can be upgraded in future tiers) or something to placate the discontent masses or to oversee deaths and marriages. Another way to generate a monthly tithe as well.

Happiness. Why are my villages 100% happy with the entertainment? There is nothing in my town for them to do except work. Not sure why they’re so entertained. Maybe it’s the frequency of wolf attacks or funerals.

No visual representation for goods being carried. There are models for items on the ground, it could be nice to see the villagers carrying things.
These are just some thoughts that I feel would help with immersion. Not demands. Maybe it’s just a problem with setting the game in our own world adds to what’s required to keeping things from falling into the uncanny valley. I do enjoy the game and just want to put these thoughts out there.
